Gold from Guelmim-Oued Noun

During the year 2020, images, videos and many rumors began to circulate about the discovery of high-quality Golds in the Southwest of Morocco. With the Covid situation it was difficult to go to or to leave Morocco, so it was quite a long time until the first pieces arrived in Europe. Once here, very reliable analyses had to be done to ensure that these new Golds were natural. They were so perfect and, some of them so different from the Golds that had been known before from Southwestern Morocco that to avoid suspicions it was best to have the analytical data prior to putting them on sale. Between one thing and another we have had to wait a bit but at the end of 2020 we can finally offer these specimens of great beauty and very different from what has been known so far.
We attach here the analysis, which as you can see is very complete, to avoid doubts about it.

Titanite on Rutile after Ilmenite and with Microcline
 

ED96AD7: A novelty at Sainte Marie-aux- Mines 2016. Characteristically platy Ilmenite crystals with irregular contour and completely pseudomorphed by Rutile, coated by very sharp Titanite crystals that are bright, with very well defined faces and edges, and with a very apparent pleochroism that shows a yellow color under led light but is greenish with natural or neon light.
The process of replacement of Ilmenite by Rutile seems very similar to that of other localities with similar geological conditions (by example the Zambian Rutile) and it is due to hydrothermal processes at the site. Platy Ilmenite crystals with irregular contours and completely pseudomorphed by Rutile, coated by very sharp Titanite crystals that are bright, with very well defined faces and edges, and with a very apparent pleochroism that shows a yellow color under led light but is greenish with daylight or neon light. Coud'a Vanadinite

One of the exciting novelties at Tucson 2002 was the new find of Vanadinite from a new shaft in the Mibladen area. The name of this shaft is "Coud'a". Hard to translate from Arabian to English, it is pronounced "Coudia". In this new shaft people found some very large Vanadinite crystals. This in its self is not a real novelty because recently all sorts of crystal sizes have been found. The novelty is that their form is much more complex than the other Vanadinites and also their luster and color much better than usual. The crystals are near to being floaters with just a small point on each crystal where they were attached to the matrix. As a result of their size and very limited attachment no matrix specimens are available - they are too big and too heavy to resist any kind of extraction.

When Vanadinite crystals are huge they are usually either dull, poorly color or have four or five figures price. These ones look great and the balance quality / price is extremely affordable in our opinion. We tried to get the most competitive specimens, especially given all the possible concerns that you might have about this kind of material, as the area is being thoroughly searched so anything could happen for good or bad.

Well, this is our offer of these lovely specimens that I really like a lot! You will observe that some specimens are photographed twice - from its front and from its rear or corner so as to show its complex crystallography.

In Imiter, it is very rare to find free-standing specimens in a vug like this one, which also has the unusual detail of the Silver wire coated with red Proustite crystals.

EW11AD8: A novelty at Sainte Marie-aux- Mines 2016. Aggregates of acicular Olivenite crystals, individualized or forming radial aggregates, with the olive-green color typical for the species, on limonite matrix and with rosette aggregates of lenticular Azurite crystals with a vivid and deep color. The Olivenite has been analyzed and we’ll send a copy of the analysis to the buyer. As usual with the Moroccan novelties, the locality is not yet completely confirmed, but it is very plausible that it is Tazalarht.

Erythrite with Phlogopite and Quartz
 

EC37AB9: A novelty at Ste. Marie 2015, a new worldwide locality for fine Erythrite! Although it looks very similar to the famous Bou Azzer ones, the deposit of this specimen is located about 500 Km. from the Bou Azzer Mine and in a different geological environment.
As far as we know these Erythrites were not known before and they come not from the Tazalarht quarries but in a new shaft/prospect located very close to the Tazalarht quarries. Related species are Quartz, Phlogopite (analyzed) and a mix of Chalcocite-Djurleite-Digenite in the matrix.

EY88AC2: A novelty at Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines 2015. Aggregate of very elongated crystals that have a quite different shape than the better known Erythrite from Bou Azzer. These crystals in a Phlogopite-rich matrix and with iridescent metallic sulphides, are notable by their luster and color, very intense and uniform.

Tounfit Florite

At the beginning of 2006 for the first time this Fluorite appeared in Morocco. It is from an old mine 1700 meters high in a mountain near the Tounfit village. First samples found were good quality but it was in Ste. Marie 2006 where we saw, and purchased, an exceptional parcel with samples of two different crystallizations and also different color and luster.

MB7T6: Aggregate of translucent crystals with a curious crystallization in which appear, very well defined, the faces of the cube, dodecahedron and octahedron cutting the corners with overgrowths forming small pyramids in the flat triangular surface.

GE27AK0: Group of crystals with a very unusual double habit, with two growth phases very marked by the difference in color. A first one that forms a very intense and bright violet octahedral interior, only visible because the second phase, whitish in color and somewhat less bright, with the shapes of the cube and octahedron, allows the tips of the former octahedron to stand out, like small pyramids on a plane. The sample is from the Casado Margolles collection (number FRM 270) whose record we will send to the buyer.
