Since childhood, minerals have been an incentive for me, a source of inspiration and to some extent a refuge where I feel happy. With the passage of time that love and admiration for minerals has not stopped growing, to the point of devoting my holidays to visiting the most important mineral shows in Europe, such as Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines and Munich, and thanks to this I have been fortunate to meet some very diverse people.

One of them is Jordi Fabre, who has spent a lifetime dedicated to the mineral trade and little by little has gathered a large number of specimens that he has never been able to put up for sale due to overaccumulation of work. Being well acquainted with the situation and these specimens, I spoke with Jordi and we concluded that since he had no time to take care of what was once "Express Minerals", there was no section on his website dedicated specifically to pieces that deserved to "come to light" but that at the same time had affordable prices.

Because of all this we agreed that a series of economic pieces from Fabre Minerals‘ reserves will be offered here with the desire to reach all those interested in mineralogy and especially the younger collectors. This page will function completely autonomously, It will be managed only by myself, and will be updated as continuously as possible but without fixed dates for updates, so I recommend visiting often to see what has been added.

I hope the specimens offered are to your liking, as selected from my particular point of view, with reasonable prices and with the seal of approval of Fabre Minerals.

22MXR48: Group of tabular and very sharp Baryte crystals that are transparent, one of them clearly dominant, lustrous, and blue in color with fine yellowish areas on the edges of the crystals, associated with small white coatings of Quartz and very shiny microcrystals of Pyrite.
The specimen was obtained in Munich 2022 and comes from finds made at the Bou Nahas mine between August and September 2022.

21TTX13: A novelty at the Sainte Marie 2021 Virtual show. Group of equant Galena crystals coated with white Cerussite microcrystals. They are also partially covered by Plumbogummite with a slightly bluish color and Quartz microcrystals, and on top of this small bipyramidal Wulfenite crystals, transparent and yellow. Above this there are Quartz crystals. The specimen comes from a 2021 find in the Georges vein in the Sidi Ayad area.

22TXM63: Crystal of Microcline (amazonite variety) with an intense and uniform color, with well defined faces and edges, adorned by a rosette of Albite crystals embedded in the center of the Amazonite crystal.
This American classic from the miarolitic cavities of the Pikes Peak granitic batholith comes from the old former collection of Robert-Auguste Touchon and is accompanied by an old handwritten label of Dr. Dagincourt in Paris that will be sent to the buyer of the piece.

22TRM61: Group of bipyramidal Andradite crystals with marked striations on the crystal faces, with very bright luster and an intense honey color, associated with a multitude of Pyrite crystals arranged along the perimeter on top of the Andradite crystals, all of it encompassed in a whitish matrix formed by Dolomite crystals.
This specimen, a real oldie from the 19th century, comes from the old collection of Robert-Auguste Touchon accompanied by an old handwritten label that we will send to the buyer.

22TTX13: Quartz Crystal (smoky variety), perfectly doubly terminated with well-defined faces and edges and with marked growth striations parallel to the more developed prism. One of the terminations has a mossy appearance due to being partially covered by microcrystals of Chlorite.

22TVR36: Isolated crystals of Fluorapatite were deposited on a matrix formed by a crystalline mass of Albite completely covered by a layer of Chlorite microcrystals with a mossy habit. The Fluorapatite displays a perfectly sharp hexagonal outline, tabular with highly developed and rough bevels but with very smooth faces, translucent and very lustrous.
A very elegant specimen that comes from the old Robert-Auguste Touchon collection.

22TBR13: Botryoidal aggregate of Malachite, with one of the spheres clearly dominant and of a deep green tone, with remnants of the surrounding concretion that is distinguished by lighter greenish hues. The specimen is from a known African locality, but one from which such fine quality specimens are rare.
It comes from the old collection of Robert-Auguste Touchon and once had a handwritten label attached that due to the passage of time was already illegible, so it has been removed from the specimen.

21EXB12: Botryoidal aggregates formed by Smithsonite crystals with a pearly luster and with color tones that vary from the lightest to the deepest browns. The have grown on very sharp rhombohedral crystals of Dolomite, one of them clearly dominant, in clear color contrast to the Smithsonite.

After more than 23 years offering minerals on the Fabre Minerals website some of them have been somewhat forgotten after so many updates. 9MC14F5: One can see different crystals that have grown in various directions. To me it looks like it is the very complex crystallization that gives the specimen so many faces, which means that any movement creates numerous reflections. It is a very original floater with zones of smoky color and multi-colored reflection from its interior. For Quartz specialists.

This type of pieces, in this deposit, correspond in origin to myarolytic cavities, so small cavities within a granitic rock where pneumatolytic minerals has developed, Quartz in this case.

21TRM12: Two generations of Pyrite crystals, an older generation of shiny crystals of cubic habit, one of them clearly dominant in the center, with marked curvatures on the edges and polycrystalline growths, and that has been partly covered by a tapestry of Calcite crystals with a fine outer layer of bluish tones. The second generation of Pyrite crystals has a much more vivid color and golden reflections, deposited on the limestone, with the crystals being smaller than those of the first generation.
The Trepča mining complex is one of the largest polymetallic deposits in the world and for many years produced exceptional specimens of Sphalerite as well as various combinations of sulphides and carbonates, as shown in this specimen from the former collection of Ferat Voca.

19TXL36: Druse formed by complex twinned crystals of lustrous deep black Sphalerite with perfectly defined faces and edges, with marked striations on some of the crystal faces and some dissolution figures. These are associated with groups of complex and scattered twinned crystals of Arsenopyrite with a metallic grey color, as well as Quartz crystals. Finally, a globular growth formed by a multitude of slightly pinkish white Dolomite crystals adorn the piece with their color contrast.
The Trepča mining complex is one of the largest polymetallic deposits in the world and for many years produced exceptional specimens, and still now, of Sphalerite as well as various combinations of sulphides and carbonates, as shown by this specimen from the former Ferat Voca collection.

Finally, the combination is adorned with a good number of water-clear Quartz crystals, some of them aerial. The Trepča mining complex is one of the largest polymetallic deposits in the world and for many years produced exceptional pieces, and still now, of Sphalerite as well as various combinations of sulphides and carbonates, as displayed in this specimen from the former collections of Ferat Voca.

of smaller brighter crystals, and a multitude of scattered small cream-colored crystals of Dolomite. A cascade of very sharp Sphalerite crystals (marmatite variety), with very well defined spinel-law twin planes, intense black and very lustrous, completes the piece, along with small traces of Pyrite with a markedly golden color. The old Herja mine, where this piece comes from, processed metals such as antimony, lead, silver and zinc.

The front exhibits a multitude of greenish Roscherite crystals, a rare phosphate of calcium, manganese and beryllium. This combo is completed by a multitude of prismatic, doubly terminated and lustrous light brown crystals of Eosphorite, a manganese and aluminum phosphate of secondary origin in phosphate-bearing granitic pegmatites. This specimen is a good example of that.

Metasomatic fluid circulation and weathering processes gave rise to the formation of secondary phosphates, such as Dufrenite, in this lithium-rich pegmatite.

Interestingly, from this same mine and time period, similar but paler colored specimens were found that turned out to be manganese-bearing calcites, whereas these more intensely colored specimens turned out on analysis to be true rhodochrosites. 22MRA11: Floater piece formed by a pair of Fluorite crystals, one of them clearly dominant, purple around the edges and more bluish towards the faces with marked roughness, which gives it a peculiar appearance with small remains of Dolomite crystals.

20TRX66: Hemispherical druse formed of a group of interpenetrating Fluorite crystals with well defined faces and edges and a deep blue color, almost mauve, with semi-transparent crystals that show color zoning, and with reddish inclusions in some of them. Small scattered crystals of Quartz and Pyrite dot the piece.
Comes from a mine that exploits tungsten and tin, hosted in quartz veins.

16MN13: Botryoidal growths of Plumbogummite with a very deep and intense blue color, with velvety surfaces that cover / replace former yellow Pyromorphite crystals of which small relics remain. The specimen comes from the Yangshuo Mine, a hydrothermal lead and zinc deposit which is connected underground to the Daoping Mine.
Both the Plumbogummite and Pyromorphite have been analyzed and we will send a copy of both analyses to the buyer.

9MJ47: Group of Quartz crystals, the largest of them doubly terminated, with transparent terminations, among which Babingtonite crystals have grown with well-defined black faces and edges, with a good luster. The group with the two largest Quartz crystals has grown on a spheroidal Prehnite crystal, with a pale green color that gives subtlety to the whole piece. This type of specimen appears in cavities in basalt that covers a large part of the provinces of Sichuan and Yunnan, in China.
