Quartz with Arsenopyrite & inclusions.
NZ46E6: Quartz with Arsenopyrite & inclusions
Very transparent crystals of Quartz. So you can see the well-defined crystals of Arsenopyrite and sprays of Mica inside it. They were trapped in it as the Quartz grew. The Quartz itself is a floater (with a recrystallized base) and has a totally undamaged tip, which is not that common in specimens from Panasqueira given the way they are collected. On the outside there are similar minerals to those inside: Mica and Arsenopyrite.

Quartz with Calcite.
JFD196AP3: Quartz with Calcite
Its form is a luxury. The Quartz crystal is long and has a deep twist enabling us to imagine it as a very showy arch, even more so for being on a kind of natural base, also formed of Quartz. Of all the Alpine finds in the Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne area, this one stands out for its attractive deformity.

Quartz with Calcite and Dolomite.

Quartz with Chalcopyrite.
JFD39AN7: Quartz with Chalcopyrite
Laguépie is an interesting French locality where a quarry exploits leptynites (microgneiss) and where local field collectors often find interesting things. A good example is this elegant piece in which we can see different generations of Quartz of different colors that cover spheres of what has been called “spherosiderites” and it is true that fibrous structures can be seen inside the spheres, compatible with carbonates. Also inside the Quartz crystals there are inclusions of what appears to be Chalcopyrite. A very fine piece and different from those usually seen.
