Pyrite.
JFD32AN7: Pyrite
The habit of this Pyrite is known in Spain as a 'matchbox'. Some faces of the cube are wider and more elongated than the others, giving this 'rectangular' appearance. They are rare in Navajún and when they do appear they are highly desired, especially if they are in matrix, as in this case.

Specimen size: 6.4 × 5.1 × 3.7 cm = 2.52” × 2.01” × 1.46”

Pyrite.
JFD31AN7: Pyrite
Navajún and its Ampliación a Victoria mine are known worldwide for their cubic pyrites that are among the best in the world, but in addition to the cubes there are also pyrites like this one, with octahedral faces. They appear in the deposit at only a single spot where no work has been done for many years. Maybe one day work will be done in that section again and more of these characteristic cubo-octahedral pyrites will appear, but for now... I bought it of course from Pedro Ansorena in 2002. Pedro is the owner of the mine and the person who knows it best.

N46GVC7: Pyrite
The strangest specimen that I have ever seen from Ambasaguas. A strange ball that is made up of thousands of small crystals. The matrix is very solid and the dark color means that it contrasts well with the yellow Pyrite.

L14DAI0: Pyrite
The crystals have one of the more classical combinations of forms from Ambasaguas, the cube and the pyritohedron, the first delicately striated. But it is not so common to find them on marly matrix because they are easily detached in mining.

Pyrite.
AV96M6: Pyrite
A floater sample of pyritohedral crystals, without any other accessory faces and with very well defined faces and edges. The luster is excellent. The time that has passed since it was mined seems to confirm that the piece is very stable because Sr. J. Amigó purchased it in 1994 and it remains unaltered.

RA12N4: Pyrite
From an American classic locality. Although originally labeled as Bravoite in reference to the grayish coating on Pyrite crystals, our analysis didn't confirm the existence of Bravoite. Subsequent consultations also confirm that it is not Bravoite and, even knowing that similar specimens could also contain Molybdenite, this species didn't appear in our analysis.

Price: [SOLD]
Pyrite.
NB97T8: Pyrite
A novelty at Expominer (Barcelona) 2011. A crystal on matrix with an unusual flattened morphology, which is quite uncommon for Navajún. The edges, sharp and perfect, are completely natural and the crystal has been consolidated on its matrix to avoid its possible detachment.
