Orthoclase, Albite, Stilbite-Ca, Quartz.
2M12: Orthoclase, Albite, Stilbite-Ca, Quartz
The Strzegom granite quarries are a classic locality for pegmatite minerals. In this case, creamy white Orthoclase crystals are seen on a matrix of bright snowy white Albite crystals. These are accompanied by very dark Quartz crystals (smoky variety) and light brown Stilbita-Ca crystals, making the whole an attractive combination.

Painite with Corundum (variety ruby).
TL17G9: Painite with Corundum (variety ruby)
Painite is surely the most important mineralogical discovery of 2006. It is a very, very rare species and, in the past, only few pieces had been found. Recent finds in Myanmar gave some few more pieces.
In the case of this sample, we must add to its rarity the extremely unusual fact that Painite is on matrix and, more, it’s with small Corundum (variety ruby) crystals. Furthermore, as detailed picture shows, its upper part is well finished. Then, considering its size, that it’s on matrix, that the piece is undamaged, its termination and the accompanying Corundum we can say it’s really an exceptional piece.
