Gadolinite-(Y) with Quartz.

Crystal that has a definition of faces and edges that is very much better than usual with samples of the rare Gadolinite-(Y). They are, furthermore, very bright and are included in a massive Quartz matrix.
The sample, a Norwegian classic, is from the René Hubin collection from Neupré in Belgium, whose label we’ll send to the buyer.

Intergrowth formed by a group of three main Galena crystals with visible and very smooth cube faces, along with figures of the cube-octahedron with graphic texture. Very clean and with a satiny metallic luster characteristic for the species. This specimen comes from a classic deposit of Spanish mineralogy, the La Cruz mine group in Jaén, Andalusia, from which not too many specimens are seen anymore on the mineralogical circuit.

Group of cubic crystals of Galena, some of them flattened and have a tabular aspect. They have the vertices truncated by the triangular faces of the octahedron. On the lower side there is a small, very well defined, crystal of Sphalerite which color is honey yellow.

Galena pseudomorphs after a group of prismatic Pyromorphite crystals, one of them clearly dominant. As can be seen by the tiny cleavages at the base of the specimen, the substitution of Pyromorphite by Galena is complete. A great French classic, very hard to come by.
