As well as being much greener than other specimens from this mine this specimen has its own special history. Jordi bought it during the 1994 Munich show from a German collector, but then the following year a major find was made at the same mine. So while the German guy had the right idea, in the end other collectors made the killer find - that's life I guess.

Densely grouped prismatic crystals on matrix. They are doubly terminated and have very well defined faces and edges. The color is very much greener than usual on samples from this location and they have clearer zones on the terminations.

Polycrystalline growths whose nucleus shows hollow formations, with geometrical color zoning, clearer in one of the terminations. The crystals, most of them doubly terminated, are implanted on Limonite matrix. We note the locality, quite uncommon..
The sample is from John Marshall’s collection whose card and label we’ll send to the buyer and has been published in the Chinese magazine ‘Mineral Lover’ on page 7 in the volume 9/2011

A second generation of crystals - also Pyromorphite - stands out on top of the older flattened generation, with a hexagonal outline and more yellowish in color. Both generations consist of an arsenic-rich variety of Pyromorphite, something not very common in this deposit. We will send a copy of the analysis to the buyer of the specimen.

Globular growths of Pyromorphite crystals forming rosettes, with good luster and a greenish color, on a Quartz matrix. A second generation of crystals - also Pyromorphite - stands out over the more flattened older ones, with a hexagonal outline and a more yellowish color. Both generations consist of the arsenic-rich variety of Pyromorphite, something not very common in the deposit. Finally, a multitude of small crystals of orange Wulfenite adorn the Pyromorphite rosettes. We will send a copy of the analysis to the buyer of the specimen.

In other cubic cavities, a second generation of Pyromorphite crystals developed, with well-defined faces and edges and a uniform green-yellow color. From an old French lead mine. They have a yellowish green color and are coated by bluish-green Plumbogummite with yellowish shades in some areas. Both the Pyromorphite and the Plumbogummite have been analyzed and we will send a copy of the analyses to the buyer.

Very aerial group of Pyromorphite crystals with very well defined faces and edges, with a tapered habit. Some of the crystals have hoppered terminations, deep green in color for the thicker ones and grass-green for the thinner ones, some of them doubly terminated, on a matrix of snow-white Baryte offering a beautiful contrast of tones. An excellent French classic from the Des Farges mine, which closed in 1981.
