Goethite coating Quartz.
SV3390EXL: Goethite coating Quartz
A great piece from the San Valentín Quarry. The Quartz crystals are of good size, the Goethite that covers them has intense iridescence and the whole thing has a strange beauty. There is a slight saw cut on the back that barely impacts the visual appearance of the specimen. This piece was in one of the great collections of that area, that of Mariano Guillén. His collection passed to that of Miguel David Martínez with the number 1700 and whose label we will send to the buyer of the specimen.
San Valentín open pit, Sancti Espíritu, Sierra Minera de Cartagena-La Unión, La Unión, Comarca Campo de Cartagena, Region of Murcia (Murcia)  Spain

Goethite coating Siderite.
SV3140TPZ: Goethite coating Siderite
A brilliant piece. The Siderite specimens from this forgotten locality were once a subject of debate because their appearance resembled Goethite. However, this is actually due to the presence of Goethite, which forms a thin layer covering the outer part of the Siderite “stalactites”! As is often the case, mineral collection and preservation prove to be valuable to the field of mineralogy.
Mina Peyreblanque, Alban, Albi, Tarn, Occitanie  France

Goethite with Quartz.
JFD34AN7: Goethite with Quartz
Beautiful iridescent goethites appear not only in Huelva, but also in Murcia, in the famous San Valentín Quarry. They can be very beautiful, like this one that covers Quartz crystals and in which an elongated botryoidal group seems to form a narrow bridge over the Goethite itself. From Alain Martaud's collection, I liked it when I bought it from him because it was so elegant and original.

Goethite with Quartz and Calcite.
JFD249AQ1: Goethite with Quartz and Calcite
In the 1980s-1990s little was known about these well-crystallized goethites from Tizirine-Sidi Rahal, which used to be labeled “Pyrolusite”, because their main seller, Infles Abdullah, had his basar near the Imini manganese mine. Later it was learned that the crystals were pleochroic and when analyzed were confirmed to be goethites. This fine piece comes from that glorious period, associated with a group of Calcite crystals, although Calcite, curiously, is a species that is not abundant in these vugs.

NE9M1: Iridescent Goethite
If the Tharsis Goethite samples are well known for their intense colors and defined stalactitic growths, La Lapilla Goethite specimens stand out because of their delicate crossed stalactitic growths and filament-like structures. Also, a highlight is the pale pastel color iridescence, whose colors vary between green, deep blue to slight pink, and gray reflections with ocher zones.
La Lapilla Mine is well known by the rich base metals “gossan”, above all its high Gold content, but is not so known for Goethites.
