Sphalerite with Fluorapatite and Muscovite.
JFD155AO7: Sphalerite with Fluorapatite and Muscovite
Look out! A specimen like this is rare in Panasqueira. Sphalerite is not usually found there in good specimens, but moreover, when it is, it is almost always associated with other sulphides, which yields less luminous groups. In this case, the association with Fluorapatite, well crystallized and with a fibrous appearance, and Muscovite with a good color, results in a very unusual specimen, a real curiosity for those who specialise in this mine.

Sphalerite with Fluorite on Quartz.
JFD23AN6: Sphalerite with Fluorite on Quartz
Although later more sphalerites with Fluorite were found in the La Viesca mine, when the first ones were found they caused much excitement among mineral collectors in Spain due to their novelty. I remember that they were very sought after and that in the end I was able to get one thanks to the deeply missed José Ramón García. Some time later, more pieces of Sphalerite with Fluorite came out, some even with relatively large crystals, although perhaps not as light in color as these first ones.
