Twinned Calcite.
5TC37F3: Twinned Calcite
Although Calcite is a common species, that does not always hold true globally. This is a novelty for Madagascar since its discovery in August 2004, an aggregate that highlights the sharpness of its crystals, their color and luster and, especially, the appearance of extraordinarily unusual twins formed by the interpenetration of two rhombohedra.

Twinned Calcite.
TMG97AN3: Twinned Calcite
A 'butterfly' twin of two very sharp Calcite crystals, with geometric bands of different intensities of red color due to Hematite inclusions. Interestingly similar to the classic English twinned Calcites from the Bigrigg area. The specimen is from the Alain Martaud collection.
Vaiges, Meslay-du-Maine, Mayenne, Mayenne Department, Pays de la Loire  France
Specimen size: 7.4 × 7.1 × 2.4 cm = 2.91” × 2.80” × 0.94”

Twinned Calcite.
AM47Z0: Twinned Calcite
Aggregate of twinned and complex Calcite crystals with the clearly dominant scalenohedron. They are transparent, bright and come from a Portuguese locality from which usually are not many samples.
Cantera Vale Rodrigues, Moita do Poço, Turquel, Alcobaça, Leiria  Portugal (2009)
Specimen size: 10.6 × 8.2 × 4.8 cm = 4.17” × 3.23” × 1.89”

Twinned Calcite.
SG28AB6: Twinned Calcite
Very Sharp butterfly Calcite twin, transparent, bright with oriented red Hematite micro-inclusions. An excellent English classic. As is the case with so many specimens in this collection, the sample is of great quality for the locality.
Egremont, West Cumberland Iron Field, former Cumberland, Cumbria  England / United Kingdom
Specimen size: 4.9 × 4.2 × 2.1 cm = 1.93” × 1.65” × 0.83”

Main crystal size: 3.6 × 2.9 cm = 1.42” × 1.14”

Price: [SOLD]
Twinned Calcite.
ET27AA4: Twinned Calcite
Aggregate of lenticular Calcite crystals, the largest with the prism faces more developed. The crystals are translucent, their color is between yellow and orange and they have a gray color zoning. As in so many specimens in this collection, the sample is of great quality for the locality.
La Sambre Quarry, Landelies, Montigny-le-Tilleul, Hainaut Province, Wallonia Region  Belgium
Specimen size: 7.4 × 5.7 × 3.1 cm = 2.91” × 2.24” × 1.22”

Price: [SOLD]
Twinned Calcite.
N7CH5: Twinned Calcite
The crystal is transparent, doubly terminated and it is on matrix. Faces and edges are very sharp and clearly show two twinned scalenohedra. A curiosity from a mine very famous for its Fluorites.
Coroña Shaft, Josefa-Veneros Norte vein, La Collada mining area, zona minera de La Collada, Siero, Comarca Oviedo, Principality of Asturias (Asturias)  Spain (1980)
Specimen size: 4.9 × 4.3 × 1.8 cm = 1.93” × 1.69” × 0.71”

Main crystal size: 2.2 × 1 cm = 0.87” × 0.39”

Twinned Calcite.
N12XBH5: Twinned Calcite
The sample is especially esthetic. It has doubly terminated yellowish crystals of a considerable size. Faces and edges are very defined and clearly show the interpenetration of two rhombohedra. A curiosity from a mine very famous for its Fluorites.
Coroña Shaft, Josefa-Veneros Norte vein, La Collada mining area, zona minera de La Collada, Siero, Comarca Oviedo, Principality of Asturias (Asturias)  Spain (1980)
Specimen size: 14 × 8.5 × 6.5 cm = 5.51” × 3.35” × 2.56”

Twinned Calcite.
TA56G1: Twinned Calcite
Fine specimen of the discovery in August 2004, in Madagascar, with the typical complex twin and excellent color, bright and clarity.
Sambava, Antsiranana  Madagascar (08/2004)
Specimen size: 4.3 × 4 × 3.5 cm = 1.69” × 1.57” × 1.38”

Price: [SOLD]
Twinned Calcite.
TB27G9: Twinned Calcite
A group of slightly flattened crystals that have a very uncommon type of twinning. They are on a matrix of little Quartz crystals. With the Calcite, some white prismatic crystals of Laumontite have also grown.
Sambava, Antsiranana  Madagascar (08/2004)
Specimen size: 6.5 × 4.5 × 4 cm = 2.56” × 1.77” × 1.57”

Price: [SOLD]
Twinned Calcite.
