Almandine.
10TR46: Almandine
Very sharp dodecahedral Almandine crystals, one of them dominant, lustrous, and brown in color with reddish tones. The crystals sit in a metamorphic rock matrix formed of innumerable Muscovite crystals. Contrary to the common practice with almandines from this region, the crystals in this piece are not glued, nor have they had their faces retouched or polished, so their natural surface is preserved. A classic Tyrolean specimen.

Almandine, Quartz.
10NE7: Almandine, Quartz
Trapezohedral Almandine crystals (Garnet group), isolated, with well-defined faces and edges, and deep color, embedded in a matrix of granular Quartz, highlighting the color contrast between the two mineral species. This type of specimen appears in pegmatites that outcrop between vineyards in the Latour-de-France area and are reminiscent of the specimens seen in the Cap de Creus area in Spain but very close to the French border.
