Two generations of Calcite. The first generation is stalactitic Calcite, while in the second generation the Calcite takes the more classic crystalline form for the locality. Crystals of both generations have good luster, and both appear partially colored by brown iron oxides. A very decorative piece originating in the Cretaceous carbonate strata of the Sierra de Santa Eulalia.

A vug completely covered by sharp Calcite crystals with the dominant forms of the scalenohedron, translucent, with good luster and a soft cream color, on a limestone matrix. A Moroccan classic of excellent quality. The specimen belonged to Santiago Jiménez who, especially in the 1980s and 90s, assembled an excellent collection.

Druse of crystals consisting of a prism with very well defined horizontal parallel growths and a flattened rhombohedral termination. They are translucent with a uniform white color.

It has previously been in the Bally Museum and in the Tschechien collection at Pribram (catalog number 9167) whose label we’ll also send. As is the case with so many specimens in this collection, the sample is of great quality for the locality.
