A novelty at St. Marie 2013. Astounding Smithsonites replacing Calcite. They show successive replacement shells indicating that the Calcite was partially replaced, some was dissolved and the next layer was attacked. Its color, its size and shape make these specimens one of the great finds of 2013. We'll send a copy of the analysis of the Smithsonite to the buyer. This specimen was published on the Mineralogical Record´s web page, in the ‘What’s New in the Mineral World?’ section, report #35, August 14, 2013 edition.
