Since childhood, minerals have been an incentive for me, a source of inspiration and to some extent a refuge where I feel happy. With the passage of time that love and admiration for minerals has not stopped growing, to the point of devoting my holidays to visiting the most important mineral shows in Europe, such as Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines and Munich, and thanks to this I have been fortunate to meet some very diverse people.

One of them is Jordi Fabre, who has spent a lifetime dedicated to the mineral trade and little by little has gathered a large number of specimens that he has never been able to put up for sale due to overaccumulation of work. Being well acquainted with the situation and these specimens, I spoke with Jordi and we concluded that since he had no time to take care of what was once "Express Minerals", there was no section on his website dedicated specifically to pieces that deserved to "come to light" but that at the same time had affordable prices.

Because of all this we agreed that a series of economic pieces from Fabre Minerals‘ reserves will be offered here with the desire to reach all those interested in mineralogy and especially the younger collectors. This page will function completely autonomously, It will be managed only by myself, and will be updated as continuously as possible but without fixed dates for updates, so I recommend visiting often to see what has been added.

I hope the specimens offered are to your liking, as selected from my particular point of view, with reasonable prices and with the seal of approval of Fabre Minerals.

Color burst in blue at its finest! Crystals of a monumental Fluorite with the best possible blue for the La Viesca mine.
This is a very special piece for several reasons, both for me and for Jordi. It is the last specimen that will be for sale on the Fabre Minerals website and it is an honor to be able to describe it, although unlike all the others published so far, its description cannot be merely systematic. I was lucky enough to accompany Jordi on a trip through Asturias in which he was able to obtain this specimen, a large Asturian Fluorite, one of our greatest weaknesses and, I believe, a weakness of many collectors.
During the time that I have been collaborating with Jordi, this page has been offering minerals with a restrained price, always seeking a balance to make all types of specimens more accessible and thus contribute to their dissemination. A farewell like this certainly deserves a splendid mineral to end it.

The specimen comes from the former collection (duplicates) of Carles Curto (number 1985.67), whose label we will send to the buyer.

9JR16: Topaz crystals, one of them clearly dominant, doubly terminated, of excellent luster and very transparent, with remnants of rhyolitic rock matrix. The smallest crystals are very rich in crystal faces as can be seen in the close-up photo.
The piece is repaired on the left side of the main crystal, being a fracture perpendicular to the axis of the prism, but it does'nt affect to the beauty of the specimen as a whole.
The sample is from the James Catmur collection (number B667) whose label we’ll send to the buyer.

20MJX66: Group of Adamite crystals in a fan shape around the perimeter of the piece, with well defined faces and sharp terminations, translucent and lustrous with a yellowish color, while the crystals in the center of the piece are more greenish, with very sharp bipyramids, all this on a limonitic matrix.
Adamite is a secondary mineral found in zinc deposits that also contain arsenic minerals.

From a classic Spanish mineral deposit very close to the well-known sulphur mines of Conil de la Frontera, in Cádiz, where ophitic bodies outcrop between Triassic sedimentary rocks, specifically in the Keuper facies. A specimen difficult to find nowadays on the commercial mineral circuit.

The crystals sit in a metamorphic rock matrix formed of innumerable Muscovite crystals. Contrary to the common practice with almandines from this region, the crystals in this piece are not glued, nor have they had their faces retouched or polished, so their natural surface is preserved. A classic Tyrolean specimen.

21TRM12: Two generations of Pyrite crystals, an older generation of shiny crystals of cubic habit, one of them clearly dominant in the center, with marked curvatures on the edges and polycrystalline growths, and that has been partly covered by a tapestry of Calcite crystals with a fine outer layer of bluish tones. The second generation of Pyrite crystals has a much more vivid color and golden reflections, deposited on the limestone, with the crystals being smaller than those of the first generation.
The Trepča mining complex is one of the largest polymetallic deposits in the world and for many years produced exceptional specimens of Sphalerite as well as various combinations of sulphides and carbonates, as shown in this specimen from the former collection of Ferat Voca.

19TXL36: Druse formed by complex twinned crystals of lustrous deep black Sphalerite with perfectly defined faces and edges, with marked striations on some of the crystal faces and some dissolution figures. These are associated with groups of complex and scattered twinned crystals of Arsenopyrite with a metallic grey color, as well as Quartz crystals. Finally, a globular growth formed by a multitude of slightly pinkish white Dolomite crystals adorn the piece with their color contrast.

of smaller brighter crystals, and a multitude of scattered small cream-colored crystals of Dolomite. A cascade of very sharp Sphalerite crystals (marmatite variety), with very well defined spinel-law twin planes, intense black and very lustrous, completes the piece, along with small traces of Pyrite with a markedly golden color. The old Herja mine, where this piece comes from, processed metals such as antimony, lead, silver and zinc.
