Calcite doubly terminated.
JH14E5: Calcite doubly terminated
This one appeals to me because it is unusual. The Calcite crystals, which are very well defined, doubly terminated, and clear, appear to be randomly spread across the dark matrix.
Minerva I Mine, Ozark-Mahoning group, Cave-in-Rock Sub-District, Hardin County, Illinois  USA (±1980)

Calcite epitactic Rhodochrosite, Sphalerite, Pyrite.
11TP46: Calcite epitactic Rhodochrosite, Sphalerite, Pyrite
Rich group of Calcite crystals in epitactic growth on Rhodochrosite. The rhodochrosite acted as a substrate which controlled the shapes and orientations of the younger Calcite crystals. The specimen is completed by crystals of Sphalerite which form the matrix, and tiny crystals of Pyrite sprinkled between the white Calcite crystals.

Calcite on Aragonite and Sulfur.
SE97AC7: Calcite on Aragonite and Sulfur
Aggregate of very flattened Aragonite crystals with their characteristic pseudohexagonal shape. The surfaces of their faces are coated by small Calcite crystals and they have deformed Sulfur crystals on the back. As is the case with so many specimens in this collection, in this case a great Italian classic, the sample is of great quality for the locality.

Calcite on Dolomite.
ET60E4: Calcite on Dolomite
I think the photo says more than I can explain. The white crystals are not what they look like: they are Calcite, so don’t be mistaken. The brown ones are what they look like: Dolomite.

Group of crystals, with one of them clearly dominant and all of them doubly terminated, totally occupied by inclusions of sand. Calcite replacing Mercenaria sp.
TA58H2: Calcite replacing Mercenaria sp
This kind of “boat” is a fossilized shell of Mercenaria sp, the interior of which is now occupied by honey-colored Calcite crystals filling most of the available inner space. The Calcite crystals “borrowed” calcium from Mercenarias for their growth.

Calcite with Aragonite.
TX97AH3: Calcite with Aragonite
You can opine, perhaps, that Calcite is a “modest” species, but it can also reach unexpected heights of elegance as in the case of this complete crystal that is clear, colorless, very rich in faces and has additional elongated Calcite and Aragonite crystals with curious parallel growths. Due to its special transparency, the Calcite crystal has a high birrefringence that allows one to see “double” images through it.

Calcite with Baryte and Pyrite.
JFD84AO0: Calcite with Baryte and Pyrite
Very interesting specimen for this mine because the very aesthetic Calcite crystals sit on large Baryte crystals coated by what look like orange iron oxides and are accompanied by small Pyrite crystals. Baryte is not a common mineral in El Hammam, I have rarely seen it there, much less in large crystals as in this case. As sometimes happens, I didn't buy it in Morocco but in Tucson 2009, from the Moroccan Ahmed Es Seouani.

Calcite with Baryte, Dolomite and Fluorite .
SM480NF: Calcite with Baryte, Dolomite and Fluorite
Complex crystals of Calcite, translucent, bright, yellow in color and on matrix, with Baryte, Dolomite and Fluorite. The yellow color of the Baryte and the general appearance of the piece is different from what is usual at this mine and corresponds to a small vug from which few pieces emerged.
Moscona Mine, El Llano, Solís, Corvera de Asturias, Comarca Avilés, Principality of Asturias (Asturias)  Spain (2018)
