Iridescent Goethite.
NB12K4: Iridescent Goethite
A novelty from Munich 2007. Stalactitic-botryoidal growth with intense, very bright, iridescence, with metallic reflections of dominant colors between golden and blue. The specimen is from a recent find on Tharsis (Filón Sur Mine) that hasn't produced significant samples in the last twenty years.

Goethite with Quartz and Calcite.
JFD249AQ1: Goethite with Quartz and Calcite
In the 1980s-1990s little was known about these well-crystallized goethites from Tizirine-Sidi Rahal, which used to be labeled “Pyrolusite”, because their main seller, Infles Abdullah, had his basar near the Imini manganese mine. Later it was learned that the crystals were pleochroic and when analyzed were confirmed to be goethites. This fine piece comes from that glorious period, associated with a group of Calcite crystals, although Calcite, curiously, is a species that is not abundant in these vugs.

FA13Z8: Goethite with Azurite and Malachite
Botryoidal Goethite aggregates with a metallic iridescence and aggregates of small lenticular Azurite crystals and acicular Malachite crystals. We especially note the locality, now extinct, and the association of Malachite and Azurite with the Goethite.

Cerussite with Goethite.
SV3220NXB: Cerussite with Goethite
The best known specimens from the San Valentín Quarry are the Cerussite pseudomorphs after Anglesite, and covered by iridescent Goethite, but sometimes the cerussites are not pseudomorphs after Anglesite and sometimes they are not covered by Goethite either. This is the case here, and furthermore, although the Cerussite crystals are not very big, they are very pretty and in perfect condition. The piece is very unusual because it was in one of the large collections in that area, that of Mariano Guillén and from his collection it went to that of Miguel David Martínez with the number 887.

Cerussite after Anglesite and Goethite.
JFD212AP6: Cerussite after Anglesite and Goethite
Anglesites pseudomorphed by Cerussite and covered with Goethite are a Spanish classic from the San Valentín Quarry, but this particular piece is different, both for not being covered with Goethite and for its intense yellow color and the dissolution figures in some crystals. Curiously I bought it in France. It was from Alain Martaud's collection (with a label) and he must have bought it from Maurice Boudon, a French engineer who worked at La Unión.
