As I have commented on other occasions, a collection is a set and not only of selected pieces, but it can also have modest pieces to simply represent a locality. This very isolated Galena crystal is representative and, furthermore, its matrix is very white, which gives it a certain contrast.

SV90RCX: Galena
Intergrowth formed by a group of three main Galena crystals with visible and very smooth cube faces, along with figures of the cube-octahedron with graphic texture. Very clean and with a satiny metallic luster characteristic for the species. This specimen comes from a classic deposit of Spanish mineralogy, the La Cruz mine group in Jaén, Andalusia, from which not too many specimens are seen anymore on the mineralogical circuit.

JST96AP8: Galena
Very aerial group of Galena crystals with dominant cube faces and with octahedron faces, not always visible, on the vertices. These crystal faces, despite the antiquity of the piece, have still preserved their very bright luster. The specimen comes from the collection of Andrés Jiménez Shelly, and was previously in the Folch collection (duplicates), whose handwritten label we will attach.

Group of Galena crystals with parallel growths on the edges, lustrous, and of more than considerable size for the deposit. An excellent and very old Spanish classic in excellent condition and with better aesthetics than this Spanish Fluorite locality usually offers.

TG6AG0: Galena after Pyrrhotite
Group of very sharp thick tabular Galena crystals with a very well defined pseudohexagonal contour because they are pseudomorphous after Pyrrhotite. They are partially coated by a second generation of well defined galena crystals and small groups of micro-crystalline Quartz. These pseudomorphs of Pyrrhotite-Galena from Murcia are well known for their stability so they are not altered by time.

Lluís Daunis again, this time with a holy relic: this Galena with Baryte and Quartz from the Santa Bárbara Mine (better know as 'La Perdiguera') which has much more brightness and quality than is usually known from there.

Interesting specimen formed by Galena crystals with the predominant forms of the cube and partially covered by Cerussite crystals as an alteration product, accompanied by a rich group of small crystals of Dolomite rich in iron with a very deep brown color. Finally, decorated with small, very sharp Quartz crystals on the Dolomite. Very different from what has been known previously from this mine.

Galena cubo-octahedron crystal, of considerable size, partially covered by a multitude of tiny crystals of Cerussite, encompassed in a matrix formed by iron-bearing Dolomite, and accompanied by Quartz crystals, some of them doubly terminated. A curious specimen due to its genetics, from the Rómulo Mine in the mining district of La Unión-Cartagena, and which is very difficult to obtain today.

A sulphide and carbonate festival! Group of Galena crystals that have been practically completely covered by a multitude of small pyrite crystals. There was subsequent precipitation of very sharp and profiled Dolomite crystals, some of them with sheaf-like curvatures, and finally small cream-toned crystals of Calcite complete the piece.
