The crystal has simple forms, with an amethyst scepter on a crystal of milky Quartz. The brilliance of the faces and the color zoning (it is like an hour glass, as one sometimes sees in Gypsum) are notable.

Parallel growth of doubly terminated amethyst crystals that formed a scepter partially coating a white Quartz crystal. The color of the amethyst crystals is very deep and intense.

Group of Quartz crystals (variety amethyst) growing preferentially in two directions, on matrix with small globular Calcite crystals, with good luster and uniform color. The specimen comes from finds made in the Capurru quarry during the year 2008.

XM2180NTL: Quartz (variety amethyst) with Calcite
Druse of Quartz (amethyst variety) crystals, on a small matrix of basalt rock. Thick aerial crystals, with very sharp faces and edges and an intense amethyst color, with partial coatings of small Calcite crystals very visible on the back of the piece. The specimen belonged to Santiago Jiménez who, especially in the 1980s and 90s, assembled an excellent collection.

NFR66AO7: Quartz (variety amethyst) with Calcite
Druse, on matrix, of Quartz crystals (amethyst variety) with a relatively short prism, transparent, shiny and pale violet, with a more intense tone on the edges and vertices. Of great quality for this locality in which amethysts are not so famous nor as well known as in other deposits in that area. The specimen comes from the collection of Miguel David Martínez (number 1040), whose label we will send to the buyer.

EP49AC6: Quartz (variety amethyst) with Calcite
Floater aggregate of transparent and very bright Quartz (variety amethyst) crystals, with phantom growths and with a very vivid and intense color. On the back, the aggregate is completely coated by Calcite and there is a very sharp, white, Calcite scalenohedron.
An excellent sample of the F. y C. Gilbert collection whose label we’ll send to the buyer.

Druse of transparent and bright Quartz (amethyst) crystals with very short prisms with strong color zoning and phantom growths. Between the amethyst crystals there are white scalenohedral Calcite crystals. An extraordinary sample, undoubtedly among the best from this well-known locality.

Stalagmitic growth of Quartz (amethyst) crystals with their prism more developed than usual on this kind of sample, very bright, with excellent color and very well marked phantom growths. The amethyst completely coats a Calcite crystal whose section is seen on the bottom of the sample.

Druse of Quartz crystals (amethyst variety) translucent, shiny, and partially covered by two generations of what appear to be Calcite crystals, a first generation with hexagonal outlines, polycrystalline surfaces and a reddish color due to the presence of abundant Hematite crystals, and covered by a second generation of Calcite which formed pale yellow equant crystals.

Scalenohedral Calcite crystals with a very well marked and sharp interpenetration twin of two rhombohedrons streamlined by oriented micro-crystals of Hematite. The Calcite is implanted on a cavity of Quartz (amethyst) crystals with an intense luster and a deep color.

MH46Y9: Quartz (variety amethyst) with Calcite and Pyrite
Group of very well defined Quartz crystals having two areas of different colors, pale lilac at the top and between colorless and slightly bluish at the base of the sample. They all are partially coated by small, very acute, white scalenohedral Calcite crystals and are with Pyrite.

CE37AJ7: Quartz (variety amethyst) with Calcite and Sphalerite
Elongated amethyst crystals with slightly curved faces and edges. They are translucent, have a very intense and uniform color, are on Sphalerite matrix and are partially coated by white scalenohedral Calcite crystals. The amethyst of such quality is very uncommon at Naica.

BXF92AP4: Quartz (variety amethyst) with Epidote
Druse on matrix of transparent Quartz crystals (amethyst variety), with very bright luster and an intense violet color. There is Epidote on the matrix, very characteristic of old specimens. The specimen comes from an important European collection.

MR79E9: Quartz (variety amethyst) with Epidote
These were one of the most attractive novelties at the 2004 Munich Show. This large one has perfect crystals and excellent color, with the groups of Epidote that have formed on many of the crystals of Quartz amethyst. The really amazing things are the inclusions within the crystals that include a first generation of intensely red amethyst and small crystals of really strange forms of black Hematite.
The specimen has been published in the book 'China', by Berthold Ottens, on page 513
