MJ56AF2: Phenakite
A novelty at Tucson 2017. Doubly terminated and complete Phenakite crystal with a small feldspar (probably Albite) matrix. The crystal has the finely striated faces of a main prism, the smooth surfaces of a secondary prism, and the rough terminal rhombohedron. An excellent thumbnail of a species that is very uncommon at Afghanistan.

EPP89AQ1: Phenakite
Floater group of transparent and very lustrous Phenakite crystals with sharp crystal forms of short prismatic habit. A Brazilian classic that comes from the Edmond Landais collection.

RA12M2: Phenakite
From the most classic locality for the species. It is a typical flattened crystal with predominant rhombohedra very, very flattened forms as terminal faces and with poorly developed prism faces forming a very thin fillet around the crystal.

Small crystal with very well defined faces and edges. It is transparent and bright and it is from probably the most classical locality for the species.

EV64V1: Phenakite
Group of crystals, one of them clearly dominant, formed by a very short prism and a very much flattened rhombohedron on the terminations. They are colorless, transparent and bright. From a Brazilian locality that is a classic for the species.

MA94X1: Phenakite with Fluorite and Orthoclase (adularia)
A novelty at Munich 2012. Phenakite is a new species for Huanggang, or at least it was not previously referenced, and we must add it to the already long list of species from this mine. The elongated Phenakite crystals that coat the entire sample are very small but show very well defined faces and edges. They are transparent and intensely bright. They are with sharp octahedral crystals of Fluorite with smaller faces of the cube. These crystals are translucent, with a very deep marine blue color and very well marked phantom growths. There are also some isolated crystals of Orthoclase (adularia variety). We’ll send a copy of the analysis of the Phenakite and the Orthoclase.
This specimen was photographed and published as a novelty at the 2012 Munich Show of the magazine ‘Mineralien Welt’ and appears on page 24 of number 1/2013

EF26AM4: Phlogopite on Calcite
Sharp, doubly terminated crystal of Phlogopite, translucent, with good luster and a bronze color that contrasts with the intense white of the Calcite matrix.

TA16AJ0: Phlogopite with Calcite
Single crystal that has an elongated prismatic shape and very well defined faces and edges. It is transparent, bright, has a very intense honey color and is on a marble matrix. The crystal has curious “interruptions” and deviations due to tectonic effects.
The sample is from the John S. White mineral reserve (reg. 26-5-1), whose label we will send to the buyer.

TG12N2: Phlogopite with Calcite
A novelty of Tucson 2009. Flattened crystal of hexagonal profile on a matrix of pinkish Calcite. Very interesting is the fact that the crystals have some terminations. It has been analyzed and shown to be Phlogopite. We’ll send a copy of the analysis to the buyer of the sample.

TA26N2: Phlogopite with Calcite
A novelty of Tucson 2009. Flattened crystal of hexagonal profile on a matrix of pinkish Calcite. Very interesting is the fact that the crystals have some terminations. It has been analyzed and shown to be Phlogopite. We’ll send a copy of the analysis to the buyer of the sample.

CA47AL8: Phosgenite
Group of tabular Phosgenite crystals one of them clearly dominant, transparent, with a kind of brown-smoky color and much better luster than usual in specimens from this locality, one of the most classic Italian localities for the species.
It comes from the Carles Curto collection whose label and catalogue entry we will send to the buyer.

EM16AA4: Phosgenite
Parallel growth of partially doubly terminated crystals consisting of two very elongated prisms and the terminal pinacoid. The crystals are translucent, bright and with a brown color. Excellent Italian classic. As in so many specimens in this collection, the sample is of great quality for the locality.

KR49M3: Phosgenite
Phosgenite crystal with excellent transparency, color and luster, and with well defined prism and terminal faces. Some upper faces show totally natural corroded structures, but the crystal is totally undamaged.
The specimen is from the James Catmur collection and we’ll send the label to the buyer.

MF47M5: Phosgenite with Cerussite
Group of very sharp crystals with clear terminations. The crystals are exceptionally transparent for the species and we note their luster and color. The group is on matrix with small crystals of Cerussite also partially covering some faces of the Phosgenite crystals. Very good esthetics.

Doubly terminated prismatic crystal on matrix, with very well developed faces and edges, parallel growths on the prism and a hoppered terminal pinacoid. The crystal is translucent and has an excellent color. Its esthetic position on the matrix enhances its visual appeal. As is the case with so many specimens in this collection, in this case a great Italian classic, the sample is of great quality for the locality.
