FH14Z9: Mimetite

Short prismatic crystals, a different shape from the most usual for samples from this locality. They are sharp, with very well defined faces and edges and are on a limonite matrix. Very unusual, as are many of the samples from this collection.

AR11M9: Mimetite

Group of very bright, crystals of an excellent color, very intense. While they have the barrel habit, typical of Campylite, they are not that variety.

Very esthetic specimen of the scarce Mimetite from Thailand. The crystals are very well defined and formed of the prism and pinacoid. Transparency, color and luster are very, very intense and contrast with the dark matrix.

Botryoidal growths and isolated Mimetite crystals, on matrix, with an intense yellow color. Contrary to our usual policy, we offer this sample despite some small broken crystals, because the main group is above normal in size and quality, and it is in perfect condition. Also for the special quality and esthetics of the piece in comparison with the best-known samples from this mine.

Nice isn't it? When I purchased it I wasn't very excited due to its really small size. However given its extremely original form, like a flower that includes the stem on the rear, its luster, and color I decided to offer it on the web looking for a collector of smaller than miniature specimens who is searching for a beauty.

Two generation of Mimetite, of a different color, come together in this specimen. The orange of the first is very intense and the second is a yellow.

MN50F1: Mimetite

The color and brilliance of this specimen are both great. The central crystal is large and shows exceptional quality, with the pinacoid facing forwards, so that one can easily see the hexagonal symmetry of the prism.

A good specimen with complete, luminous crystals that are well positioned on the matrix. It also has the form of "Mickey Mouse" in the main crystal with its two associated little crystals. Overall it is very neat and unusual.

ER36R5: Mimetite

Group of short prismatic crystals, many of them doubly terminated, of excellent color, between orange and yellow, and very bright. Relatively common just a few years ago, their high quality and their growing scarcity have made them modern-classics.

KR76L9: Mimetite

An excellent Mimetite specimen showing well marked hoppered growth. Some of the crystals are doubly terminated and with an interesting and intense yellow color zoning, deepest in the central zone. The good brilliance and intense color contrast with the light and dark colors of the matrix. Really, really esthetic!
The specimen is from the James Catmur collection and we’ll send the label with it.

EC6F5: Mimetite

Very unusual for Touissit, this Mimetite (we have analyzed it) has formed small sharp, green crystals that have created semi-spherical groups across almost the whole specimen. Where one can see the matrix it is dark, which gives the specimen a mottled appearance. We will send the purchaser a copy of the analysis.

Like a tree this very unusual Mimetite grows on a thin matrix plate. So it shows off both its surprising form and is size and perfection. A really unique specimen – we have never seen another like it or even similar to it.

Elongated crystals with pyramidal terminations and a very intense yellow color, bright and on a limonite matrix. It comes from a specific find in shaft 5 at Santa Eulalia.

ER56X5: Mimetite

Very aerial group of well defined crystals, some of them partially doubly terminated. They have a very clear yellow color and an unusually big size for Tsumeb Mimetite crystals.

T37GE9: Mimetite

In these crystals the prisms and the terminations have very contrasting surfaces. The faces of the prisms have a rough look due to multiple growth patterns, but the faces of the hexagonal pyramids which make up the terminations are flat and brilliant. The excellent yellow color, good esthetics and the fact that they are on matrix make it an outstanding specimen.

EA28X5: Mimetite

Polycrystalline “bundled” growths of crystals with acute pyramidal micro-terminations. They are bright, have a clear yellow color and are on matrix.
The sample is from the collection of Claus Hedegaard, whose label we’ll send to the buyer.

MP50T7: Mimetite

Unusual spheroidal growths, on a limonite matrix, with a very intense yellow color. They look like the Mimetite from San Pedro Corralitos, México. The sample, according to Desmond Sacco is from one of the first finds of this secondary species in the oxidation zone at Tsumeb, during the first days of its exploitation.
With a handwritten Sacco collection label, that we’ll send to the buyer.

Groups, on matrix, of barrel-shaped crystals with very pronounced curvatures of faces and edges that give the crystals an almost globular shape. They have a very intense orange color, are very bright and they came from the most well-known locality for this variety.
