Laminar very sharp crystal of Hematite that has extraordinarily defined and bright faces. It is on a matrix of rhombohedral crystals of Magnesite with a small red crystal of Fluor-uvite. Just a nice piece.

Flattened polycrystalline growths of very sharp Hematite crystals. They are black and very bright and are on a matrix of fan-like aggregates of Prehnite crystals. Unusual.

Massive Hematite with Quartz crystals and vugs covered by very sharp Hematite crystals with a lenticular shape and extraordinarily bright. The sample is an English classic, very typical of the locality.

SV260MFE: Hematite with Quartz
Curious rosette-like growth of lamellar crystals, lustrous and very finely scaly, of Hematite displaying two well-differentiated geometric growths, a triangular central earlier growth and a spherical later perimeter. Quartz crystals are found partially disseminated between the layers of Hematite crystals.

TL68AJ9: Hematite with Quartz
The sample is especially attractive due the contrast between the thin and sharp forms of the rosette aggregates of the laminar Hematite crystals, very bright, and the rounded outlines of the aggregates of white Quartz crystals with the “artichoke-like” shape.

EFB96ASN3: Hematite with Quartz
Lenticular Hematite crystals of a deep black color, extraordinarily shiny, to the point that they produce flashes with incident light, intergrown on a matrix of massive bands of Hematite as well. The isolated Quartz crystals are clearer than usual for this locality and are well-formed, with minimal prism development. A true classic of English mineralogy, originating from the ancient iron mines of the Cumbria district.

Obtained at Munich 2022 Parallel growths of lamellar crystals of Hematite, very sharp, with a fine growth contact on one of the edges that may appear broken, but is not, sitting on a matrix of Quartz crystals (smoky variety) Note the precision with which the location of discovery is given.

Epitaxial growths of twinned Rutile crystals, lustrous and of a very deep, dark red color, on tabular Ilmenite crystals that have in turn been pseudomorphed by Rutile and Hematite. Note that the areas that may appear broken or scratched are actually re-growths, the specimen being a complete floater and perfectly crystallized.
