TP48AH3: Grossular (variety hessonite) with Diopside
Thinking of Grossular localities it is very probable that the first in our mind will be Val d’Ala. The crystals, very well defined and combining the forms of the dodecahedron and the trapezohedron, with splendid color and luster and the presence on the matrix of Diopside and Clinochlore crystals do this sample great credit as an Italian classic.

Druse of dodecahedral crystals of Grossular (hessonite). They are clear, slightly pinkish and very bright. In their center they have small phantom growths of a very deep green color. They are on matrix with white flattened crystals of Diopside.

MG90AK7: Grossular (variety hessonite) with Pectolite
Druse of dodecahedral hessonite crystals beveled by trapezohedron faces. The crystals are very transparent, highly lustrous, very uniform in color and partially covered by transparent, white and exceptionally defined bladed Pectolite crystals. An unusual specimen for the quality of both components.

TL49J0: Grossular (variety hessonite) with Pectolite
The crystals are composed of the dodecahedron and trapezohedron. They have a honey-yellow color, are very clear, and have very well defined faces and edges. With the Grossular, and no less important, there are small white crystals of Pectolite, exceptionally defined. A magnificent specimen.

EF10I1: Grossular (variety hessonite) with Wollastonite
The dodecahedral crystals completely cover the matrix. They are transparent and very bright. On them is a delicate white prism of Wollastonite, unusually defined. The specimen is very esthetic.

EP91AA3: Grossular (variety hessonite) with Wollastonite and Fluorapophyllite-(K)
Crystals with very well defined faces and edges consisting of a dominant dodecahedron finely beveled by the trapezohedron. They are very transparent and bright, have a deep and uniform honey color and are with very sharp, white and thin Wollastonite crystals and small equant Fluorapophyllite-(K) crystals. A gorgeous sample.

6TR96Q8: Grossular (variety hessonite), Clinochlore
Group of rhombododecahedral crystals beveled by trapezohedron faces. With very well defined faces and edges, they have an excellent luster and a color between pink and orange, in a matrix covered by small Clinochlore crystals. From a mine closed since 2001 and from which it is difficult to get quality specimens currently.

EBX87AP0: Grossular (variety tsavorite) with Pyrite
Parallel growths of rhombododecahedral Grossular crystals (tsavorite variety) extraordinarily elongated, transparent, with great luster and an intense emerald-green color, associated with Pyrite microcrystals. A very fine specimen, uncommon in its morphology, both for the crystals and for the group.

T87BDH5: Grossular on Quartz
The locality is not well known. Crystals are dodecahedrons with well-defined faces and edges contrasting with the matrix of white Quartz where they growth.
The specimen is with an old label of R.F. Denicourt collection.

The crystals of Grossular have not developed completely, but their brilliance and definition are very attractive and the contrast with the white Calcite gives the whole thing a neat esthetic look.

Crystals have the dodecahedral form and they are bright and sharp, standing on a Calcite matrix.
The specimen proceeds from the A. Santos collection and it passed to Folch collection in 1952.

TBY67AQ1: Grossular with Chlorite
Very sharp dodecahedral Grossular crystals, translucent, lustrous, colored orange and in a matrix covered by lamellar Chlorite crystals. The specimen comes from finds from the year 2023 in the Kayes region.
The specimen has been reviewed, photographed and published as a new discovery in the magazine ‘Mineralogical Record’ on page 662 in the volume 54, number 5, September-October 2023

Isolated crystal, very well defined and an excellent color, with some other smaller crystals on a Chlorite matrix. The sample is from a very few known Piemontese locality and its characteristics are quite different from the samples from neighboring valleys.

TK1V2: Grossular with Prehnite
Parallel growths of dodecahedral crystals with a deep honey color, bright and transparent. The color is darker than usual due to the size of the crystals which are unusually large for the locality, one of the great worldwide classics for the species.
The sample was in the collection of John Lindell, whose label we’ll send to the buyer.
