A novelty at Tucson 2018. The sample is from a new place, not so far from the better known Serra do Caldeirão where the gold samples have different morphological characteristics. In this case this is a single floater and complete crystal with very well defined faces and edges and a Spinel law twin.

A novelty at Tucson 2016. Floater and very aerial aggregate of flattened crystals that have very well defined skeletal growths. According to our sources the site is not supplying new specimens for collectors so new finds are not expected. We analyzed these Golds and they are really special. They contains a 99.1% Gold and about a 0.5 % Rhodium, which is quite uncommon. We’ll send a copy of the analysis to the buyer.

After the first significant gold discovery in Serra do Caldeirão in 2015 (An opportune harvest of Gold in Serra do Caldeirão claims, Brazil), there have been new small finds in the area. Specifically, this Gold is from 2017 and is from the Serra Dourada area. Compared to the others, it has an excellent color and the crystal faces are more rounded than those of golds from the Serra do Caldeirão.

Floater specimen of octahedral crystals with sharp edges and deep skeletal growths. The site is currently not supplying new specimens for collectors so new finds are not expected. In the words of Bob Noble on his label: “spinel twin structure“. This very aesthetic specimen is of high quality and comes from a classic American locality for the species.
The specimen will be sent in Bob Noble‘s original Perky box, which also contains the label.
