LH76AE7: Galena with Dolomite and Chalcopyrite
Very sharp and aerial Galena crystals, one of them clearly dominant. They are cubic with small octahedral faces, and are on matrix with small white Dolomite rhombohedra and twinned Chalcopyrite crystals.

Although it is such a popular mineral, Galena is quite rare in Panasqueira and only very occasionally can good specimens be obtained. In this case, it also has the added bonus of well-crystallized Stannite covering Chalcopyrite in the base. A combo of unusual species at Panasqueira.

Aggregate, on a metallic matrix, of cuboctahedral crystals with very well defined faces and edges in which the forms of the cube and the octahedron have a very equal size A thin film of Pyrite coats some of the crystals of Galena. It is from a find by Frank de Wit in 2007 from which we offer all the available samples. The piece is with a label signed by Frank that we'll send to the buyer.

A classic species, with the classic cuboctahedral form and from a classic locality. It started as a cube and then later on cuboctahedral forms grew on it, orientated to the cube. All of which makes the specimen especially attractive.

Cubo-octahedral Galena crystals with hoppered growths in some of their faces. They are bright and are on matrix, with Pyrite aggregates and small Baryte crystals. The quality of the Galena is better than usual for the locality.

Obtained at Munich 2022 Cuboctahedral crystals of Galena, very aerial on their matrix, associated with groups of Pyrite crystals and small groups of very lustrous lamellar microcrystals of Baryte. The specimen comes from finds made in the Bou Nahas mine between August and September of 2022.

Aggregate of bright cubo-octahedral Galena crystals unusually well developed that have a large size for the locality. They are with small Calcite crystals and are on matrix, with Chalcopyrite. Galena is a very rare species at Panasqueira, especially forming such well defined crystals.

Very sharp and bright cubo-octahedral Galena crystals on a matrix of small Pyrite crystals, with white Calcite. The Pyrite aggregate has a curious hood-like shape that probably corresponds to the surface of an old lost scalenohedral Calcite crystal.

Cubo-octahedral Galena crystal showing an equal development of the cube and the octahedron faces. One of the cube faces is coated by a grayish-yellow Pyrite crust and the crystal is with white small Fluorite crystals. The Galena crystal is very well defined, more so than usual in the samples from this area.

Group of numerous isolated cubo-octahedral Galena crystals with well defined faces and edges, on matrix, accompanied by tabular Baryte crystals of a bluish color and crystals of Quartz that partially cover the Pyrite and Quartz matrix. A beautiful association of this specimen of considerable size and very representative of what is found in the polymetallic Bou Nahas deposit.

A sulphide and carbonate festival! Group of Galena crystals that have been practically completely covered by a multitude of small pyrite crystals. There was subsequent precipitation of very sharp and profiled Dolomite crystals, some of them with sheaf-like curvatures, and finally small cream-toned crystals of Calcite complete the piece.
