It comes from a mine that exploited F, Ba, Pb and Zn and from which not many specimens are seen on the international commercial circuit.

For a time we used to see these very dark octahedral fluorites (which could be called “antozonites”) and just as they appeared they disappeared again. This is a representative example of what for some years was a classic at Spanish mineral shows.

21MMX14: Fluorite
Aggregate of Fluorite crystals of complex crystallography where the cubic and tetrahexahedron shapes dominate, with some completely smooth crystal faces, not cleavages, with a deep and uniform color tone, but with more intense coloration on some of the cube faces. From a classic deposit for Asturian fluorite, Corta San Lino, which closed in 1986. The sample, a Spanish classic, it was from Dr. Anton Forster, a mining engineer and collaborator of Dr. Maucher at Munich University. Dr. Forster was the Geologist in Chief at La Collada Mine.

Floater Fluorite crystal of cubic habit, with finely polycrystalline surfaces, between translucent and transparent, with an intense and uniform lilac color, with cavities left by dissolved crystals, possibly of Calcite, on matrix and partially covered by microcrystals of Dolomite. The specimen, of excellent quality for the locality, comes from the Miguel David Martínez collection (number 579), whose label we will send to the buyer.

Fluorite crystal formed by smooth cube faces, along with octahedral ones with polycrystalline growths, between transparent and translucent, of a very deep green color, with violet colored zoning in some areas, and with centered inclusions that look like eyes, so this type of specimen is known as an "alien eye". We will ship the specimen in its original Perky box from the Robert J. (Bob) Noble collection, which also contains the label.

Group of very sharp Fluorite crystals between transparent and translucent, with good luster and an intense yellow color with a fine geometric zoning on the violet edges. This limited find was of great quality for what is known from this mine. The mine was worked for 30 years in the 20th century, exploiting a Fluorite and Quartz vein embedded in a migmatitic rock.
