Group of extraordinarily defined and bright small crystals. These crystals are dipyramidal, of very well defined faces and edges and many of them doubly terminated. In this case Descloizite is the base of a group of scalenohedral crystals of white Calcite.

Growth of dypyramidal crystals, most of them doubly terminated, of Descloizite. They have good luster and very well defined faces and edges. Grown on Limonite matrix, they were later covered by a generation of scalenohedral crystals of Calcite.

Group on Limonite matrix of small very bright crystals, most of them doubly terminated, forming dipyramids with very well-defined faces and edges. The specimen is very esthetic because of its attractive crests and vugs. A wide surface of the sample is covered by a layer of acute scalenohedron of white Calcite.

NG50I7: Descloizite with Calcite

Flattened group of columnar growths of small very bright crystals, most of them doubly terminated, forming dipyramids with very well-defined faces and edges. On one of the sides, in which Descloizite is more visible, there is a botryoidal growth of Calcite, while the opposite side is completely covered by very acute scalenohedral crystals of white Calcite.

Floater and very aerial parallel growths of sharp tabular Descloizite crystals, translucent, with a bright luster and chocolate color, partially coated by small rhombohedral Dolomite crystals. The specimen comes from the Claus Hedegaard collection (number 10517), whose catalogue entry we will send to the buyer.

Group of laminar crystals of extraordinarily deep bluish-green color, on matrix. The specimen, that was acquired in 1956 is with a label from Peter Indergant (numb. 1817) in which the species appears as Herrengrundite, a name actually now obsolete and that refers to its previous name, from Herregrund, its locality of origin.

18ERT13: Diaspore

Diaspore is an aluminum oxy-hydroxide that rarely develops into crystals. Fortunately, in Turkey there is a classic deposit where the crystals show good development, color and transparency, as is the case of this specimen, terminated and with a light yellowish-greenish color and with fine vertical striations. This mineral, together with Boehmite and Gibbsite, make up bauxite, a rock which is the main ore of aluminum.
