Dendritic growth of elongated Copper crystals, with the crystal forms of the octahedron and the rhombododecahedron, very balanced and partially covered by plates and cubo-octahedral micro-crystals of Cuprite with translucent reflections of an intense red color. The specimen is both aesthetic and representative of the locality, and comes to us from the collection of Santiago Jiménez García.

RF13S7: Cuprite with Copper
Small crystals of Cuprite on an arborescent growth of native Copper. They are very sharp, with a dominant octahedron modified by smaller cube faces and are intensely sherry red and very bright.

RC86H0: Cuprite with Copper
Another classic, with the typical appearance of the Cuprite samples from Liskeard. Crystals are octahedrons and they show two different forms, isolated on most of the piece’s surface and spherically grouped on the upper left zone. There is also native Copper on the back side of the piece.

BBT94AO8: Cuprite with Dickite
Druse with very sharp Cuprite crystals with the dominant octahedron and with smaller forms of the rhombododecahedron and the cube, translucent, with great luster and a bright red color. On matrix and with white fibrous aggregates of Dickite. With better color and luster than usual, it is of great quality for the locality. It comes from an important European collection.

TB16AH5: Cuprite with Dickite
Polycrystalline surface of crystals with the dominant octahedron, but also with the faces of the dodecahedron and the cube. The crystals are translucent, very bright with a vivid red color and are on matrix, with white fibrous Dickite aggregates. Of the best quality for that mine.

TA37L3: Cuprite with Dolomite
An extraordinary classic Tsumeb specimen. Very well defined Cuprite crystals, formed by dominant octahedron and cube faces, on a Cuprite matrix covered by a layer of small Dolomite crystals. Cuprite presents an excellent luster and an uncommon transparency for the species, when light reflects on the crystals.
The sample is accompanied by old labels from an unidentified German collection, which we will send to the buyer of this gorgeous specimen.

TP92AH2: Cuprite with Dolomite (variety cuprian) and Adamite (variety cuprian)
Cubo-octahedral Cuprite crystals that are translucent, very bright, have a very intense and deep red color and are partially coated by aggregates of very well defined cuprian Dolomite crystals and minor cuprian Adamite crystals.
The sample is from the Chris Amo collection (Williamsville, N.Y.), and it previously was in the Willy Israel collection, in Belgium. We’ll send both labels with the sample.

A group of very bright crystals formed by the faces of the cube and the octahedron. On the upper part of the sample there is a little coverage of Calcite with Malachite.

MP46W8: Cuprite with Miersite
Aggregate of octahedral crystals some of them showing very small faces of the cube. The crystals, with very well defined faces and edges, are coated in some areas by lemon yellow crystals, isolated or clustered, of Miersite, a rare iodide of silver and copper.

TR16AE1: Cuprite with Plancheite
Very sharp and slightly elongated octahedral crystal with very well defined faces and edges and fine polycrystalline growths. The crystals are perfectly individualized and on matrix, and they show a very vivid red color when backlit by an intense light beam.

TD99P1: Cuprite with Quartz
The crystals have the very neat forms of the dodecahedron; very unusual, as isolated forms, for Cuprite. They are bright and have reddish reflections, contrasting with the white matrix of Quartz.
The specimen has been reviewed, photographed and published as a new discovery in the magazine ‘Rivista Mineralogica Italiana’ on page 280 in number 2009/4
