Aggregate of twinned disphenoidal (pseudotetrahedral) crystals of Chalcopyrite, with slight iridescence, on matrix.
The specimen from one of the most classic German localities for the species comes from the Carles Curto collection, whose label and catalogue entry we will send to the buyer.

TTB46CD4: Chalcopyrite
Group of Chalcopyrite crystals, complex and with polycrystalline growths, with well defined faces and edges and with a very marked bluish iridescence. After consulting several experts with knowledge of the area, we believe that this piece comes specifically from the Armée Céleste Mine, one of the classic Alsatian mines in which silver was the main metal exploited, and which yielded good specimens of Chalcopyrite.

A true antique and a classic of English mineralogy from the collection of Colonel John Wilson Rimington and which is accompanied by an old label from the Deyrolle establishment in Paris, which we will send scanned to the buyer of the piece. The prestigious Drouot auction house of Paris auctioned the piece in 1912.

JFD58AN9: Chalcopyrite
Exceptional for the locality, in which, although very beautiful crystals of Chalcopyrite replaced by Malachite appear on the Dolomite, they are usually not very large. This piece can be considered one of the largest groups of crystals ever found there, or at least I don't know of any with well developed faces bigger than this one. The credit for finding the piece goes to Paco Pérez, a great field collector in the Basque Country, from whom I got it.

ETB91AO9: Chalcopyrite
Obtained at Ste. Marie 2022 Disphenoidal Chalcopyrite crystal with very well defined faces and edges, fine polycrystalline growths, good luster and intense yellow color, more vivid than what is usually seen from La Gardette, and of considerable size. Accompanied on its rear by transparent and bright Quartz crystals with the typical habit of the locality. The specimen comes from finds made between 2018 and 2019

The specimen is a miniature but the main crystal is of a considerable size. It has an extraordinary sharpness of its faces and edges. Also extraordinary are its luster and the presence, on the back, of growths looking like sawteeth.

The sample has a great quality and it has been noted and photographed in the monograph “Mexico Special Issue VII” of the Mineralogical Record magazine (September-October 2016, pg. 545)

TD47Z2: Chalcopyrite coating Tetrahedrite
Parallel Chalcopyrite growths coating two large Tetrahedrite crystals. The Chalcopyrite crystals along the Tetrahedrite edges are clearly more developed. This Chalcopyrite-Tetrahedrite association is very scarce at the locality, better known for very good Chalcopyrite with Siderite.

Large tetrahedral Tetrahedrite crystal with irregular surfaces and almost completely coated with bright and very well defined Chalcopyrite crystals, and some white Siderite crystals.
The sample is from the Carles Manresa collection (num. 1091), who’s label and collection card we’ll send to the buyer.

CR13AM4: Chalcopyrite epitactic Tetrahedrite with Dolomite
Tetrahedral crystals of Tetrahedrite with epitaxic coatings of Chalcopyrite, very lustrous, on matrix and with small coatings of white rhombohedral Dolomite crystals.
Some crystals are fractured as is often the case in these classic pieces since it is an old German specimen referenced in mindat.org (Mindat ID: YYU-5K4). It comes from the collection of Carlos Curto (number 1970.13) whose label and computer catalogue entry we will send to the buyer.

NC46AJ7: Chalcopyrite on Baryte, Dolomite, Calcite and Pyrite
Very sharp disphenoidal Chalcopyrite crystals with a pseudotetrahedral shape, twinned and with an iridescent superficial patina with dominant blue shades. Most of the crystals are on a matrix with Dolomite, Calcite and Pyrite and are implanted on a parallel growth of very sharp Baryte crystals. This kind of Chalcopyrite was not known at the locality until now.

Obtained at Ste. Marie 2022 Disphenoidal Chalcopyrite crystals with well defined faces and edges, with fine polycrystalline growths, lustrous, on a matrix of transparent and lustrous Quartz crystals, with the typical local habit. This old specimen comes from the Seeman collection, from Alsace, which proves that, although very scarce, yellow chalcopyrites do exist in La Gardette.
