JM37AF3: Twinned Cerussite with Galena

Very sharp twinned crystals, between transparent and translucent, with whitish phantom growths, very bright, with a golden brown color and small Galena inclusions. The tip of the main twin, is slightly rough but free of damage. The termination of one of the secondary crystals is fractured.
The sample is from the James Catmur collection (number B120/A23AC) whose label we’ll send to the buyer.

MB70L1: Twinned Chrysoberyl

This floating twinned Chrysoberyl, which has well-defined contours, intense yellow color and brilliance, shows an assymmetric growth due probably to formation conditions. The two parts of the twin are well marked by the central joint and fine divergent growth striations. Good size and very original.

A twin of two crystals, of a good size for the species, of very intense color and luster. At the bottom, the crystal is thiner and elongated giving its shape a very aerial form.

TH90S1: Twinned Chrysoberyl (variety alexandrite)

Complete cyclic twin, tabular and on matrix. The twin, with the typical profile of a six pointed star, is translucent, of deep green color under daylight (fluorescent), acquiring reddish shades when it is under an incandescence light.

ET29AM1: Twinned Diaspore

Two flattened and doubly terminated crystals of Diaspore that form a markedly angular twin, with polycrystalline terminations and fine striations on the prism faces. The two crystals are transparent to translucent, lustrous, and greenish-yellow in color.

EF26AL6: Twinned Diaspore

A partial novelty after the Sainte Marie 2020 Virtual Show. From a classic Turkish locality but with a different morphology and color. With a vertical twin plane, the crystal has excellent terminal faces, is transparent and very lustrous, and is very fine and of great quality. With greenish yellow tones and marked dichroism, it changes color between soft red and green depending on the type of incident light and the angle of incidence of the light.

EV10AL9: Twinned Diaspore with Rutile

Mostly new after the Sainte Marie 2020 Virtual Show, from a classic Turkish locality but with a different transparency and color. A twin of two crystals with different terminations, one of them with visible faces and the other with very acute polycrystalline growths. The longest crystal has a partially incomplete termination. The crystals are transparent, with good luster and abundant Rutile inclusions. They have an intense yellow-green color with focused natural light and more yellow under halogen light, and with clearly visible dichroism changing color between soft red and green.

From the glorious era in which, in the 'el pozo' area, Engineer Córdoba ordered the saving of exceptional specimens. I was only 18 years old at the time and this was one of the dolomites I got. There were much better ones but, having just started in the world of mineral collecting at that time, I don't complain about my luck.
