SV2160TFX: Sphalerite with Quartz
Aggregate of very sharp Sphalerite crystals (variety marmatite), with very well defined spinel-law twinning, intense black color, very lustrous, and aerial. Although it might appear that this specimen comes from the Trepča mining complex, its origin is really the José Maestre tunnel in the La Unión-Cartagena mining district, Spain, and it has a high quality compared to the specimens we usually see from there.

SV210MLH: Sphalerite with Quartz
Complex crystals of Sphalerite, equant, transparent, with very good luster and an intense color, with defined edges and faces, some of them showing polycrystalline growths, on a matrix partially covered by small Quartz crystals, from a skarn deposit with Cu-Pb-Zn enrichment. The specimen is of better quality and luster than what usually appears at this mine.

NM27AL7: Sphalerite with Quartz
Complex Sphalerite crystal twinned and translucent with good luster and a dominant toasted honey color. On a matrix of Quartz crystals. Sphalerite is a rarity in the otherwise prolific La Viesca Mine.

Crystal with a very sharp tetrahedral habit, of well-defined faces and edges, uncommon with Sphalerite, and with flat faces without curvatures or striations. The color is quite good, so the crystal has an excellent contrast on the Quartz crystal martrix.

MY6R8: Sphalerite with Quartz
Sphalerite crystals more individualized than usual for the locality. They have a very well defined tetrahedral habit and are twinned, translucent and very bright, being implanted on a matrix coated by Quartz with small white crystals of Dolomite and yellow crystals of Calcite. A USA classic.

TD27D8: Sphalerite with Quartz
The Sphalerites from China are very similar to the ones from Aliva, Spain, but normally people say that their transparency and brilliance is not as good. Exceptionally in a few cases the quality is very similar or maybe even better than the Spanish ones. That is the case with this beautiful specimen, and we believe that the photo clearly shows its great quality, and how it stands out from the white Quartz matrix.

DC96H1: Sphalerite with Quartz and Galena
The crystal has excellent color and transparency and clearly shows the formation of the Spinel twin, which is defined by the numerous entrant angles. Its centered position on the matrix of Quartz crystals, with darker zones of Galena, is especially esthetic.
