We highlight, apart from the color, which is very rare in Las Mánforas, the excellent definition of the crystal forms. This specimen comes from the Alain Martaud collection, whose label we will send to the buyer. A great Spanish classic!

TX50AD2: Sphalerite with Calcite
Aggregate of translucent and bright crystals with very well defined forms and polycrystalline growths. They have a very uniform honey color and are on a small matrix, with microcrystalline Calcite. The sample is from a classic Canadian locality where it’s currently difficult to obtain samples of such quality.

JVM50AP8: Sphalerite with Calcite
Group of Sphalerite crystals with very sharp crystal forms, between translucent and transparent, with good luster and a very unusual green coloration for specimens from this deposit. This high-quality specimen comes from the collection of Andrés Jiménez Shelly and was previously in Carlos Prieto Paramio's.

EPD94CD3: Sphalerite with Calcite
These were new at Ste. Marie 2022. Twinned Sphalerite crystals, more isolated than usual, sharp and with very well-defined faces and edges, between translucent and transparent, lustrous and intense red with yellow tones. On matrix, with small white Calcite crystals and they somewhat resemble those from Áliva in color, although their crystallography is different. Some crystals have small abrasions, but still... It was an occasional discovery from which nothing further has been heard, and no specimens like these are seen anymore.

A “nest” of very sharp and brilliant Sphalerite crystals, very rich in growth striations. The Sphalerite crystals are surrounded by white lenticular Calcite crystals. Very, very esthetic.

CF86AD3: Sphalerite with Calcite and Dolomite
Druse of complex Sphalerite crystals that are very rich in faces and have very well defined forms. They are translucent, very bright and have a very deep color. On a rocky matrix with small rhombohedral Dolomite crystals. An American classic.

SV190NBF: Sphalerite with Calcite and Dolomite
Polycrystalline growth of complex Sphalerite crystals with curvatures and with smooth tetrahedron faces. They are translucent, with very bright luster and an intense honey color and with the uncommon peculiarity of being accompanied by a scalenohedral Calcite crystal and rhombohedral crystals of snow-white Dolomite. A classic of Cantabrian mining from Las Mánforas, located in a spectacular setting next to the Picos de Europa National Park.

SM480GPD: Sphalerite with Calcite and Dolomite
Druse of large twinned Sphalerite crystals with very sharp crystal forms, on matrix, and partially covered by complex Calcite crystals and rhombohedral Dolomite crystals with curved faces and edges. The specimen comes from the Pedro Goy collection and has a higher quality than usual for this locality due to the large size of the crystals.

The specimen is a perfect aesthetic compendium of Sphalerite, with complex crystals, one of them clearly dominant and very aerial, of unusual size for the locality, with distinct polycrystalline growths and with curvatures on the faces and edge, translucent, lustrous and rich in deep and intense color tones. On matrix, with Dolomite and white rhombohedral crystals of Calcite. The specimen is from the Philippe Morelon collection (No. 1075), whose catalogue entry we will send to the buyer.

Complex crystals of Sphalerite of dark honey color and good transparency, partially coated by small crystals of Dolomite and with doubly terminated crystals of Calcite (a species uncommon at this locality in well-formed crytals), with the shape of a scalenohedron but composed of polycrystalline growths of the prism and a terminal rhombohedron.
