This very old Smithsonite is quite different from those found later. The color and luster are excellent and show us what this great mine was like in its early days. I remember we searched a lot before we were able to locate the mine, like ‘explorers’ in the wild and wonderful country that Morocco was then.

Spheroidal growths of Smithsonite, on matrix, of an intense pink color, and with recrystallized areas in a second generation of white color. The specimen comes from a very classic locality, although very few specimens of Smithsonite of this quality are found and only as old specimens like this one.
