Sceptered Quartz amethyst from the finds of a few years ago, when the workings of the new high-speed train (AVE) crossed a mineralized area of the Montseny Mountains near Barcelona.

NM96T1: Sceptered Quartz (variety amethyst) with smoky Quartz
Sample from the famous find on the AVE works, April 2006, whose pieces are characterized by their luster and the deepness of their color. In this case we also note the sharpness of the scepter, with a polycrystalline growth on the lower termination, and some window growths on the faces of the rhombohedron.

TA90AC2: Sceptered Quartz (variety smoky and amethyst)
Scepter growth of a doubly terminated crystal with a short prism and very well defined and deep window (fenster) growths. The color, distributed in very irregular spots, varies from the clearest lilac to deep violet, with some smoky areas.

TA96T8: Sceptered smoky Quartz
Very well defined scepter growth whose base is a smoky crystal, with a very deep color, capped by a sharp crystal with a short prism and translucent with many inclusions. Because of a neat irregular growth on the back it is possible to see the termination of the dark smoky stem.

A novelty at Tucson 2011. Parallel and sceptered growth with a centered “window” formation. Crystals are very bright with deep smoky shades and are on a parallel group of very elongate crystals of white Quartz.

Bipyramidal crystal of yellowish-greenish Scheelite with very sharp crystal forms and flat terminations truncated by the pinacoid. A classic of Italian mineralogy where a skarn was mined from the Middle Ages to the mid-20th century, from the old collection of Robert-Auguste Touchon.

Polycrystalline growths, with a dipyramidal habit, of translucent Scheelite with an intense and uniform yellow-orange color, on matrix, with very sharp crystals of Arsenopyrite, small twinned Cassiterite crystals and lamellar Muscovite growths. It is very good news that the La Parrilla mine, one of the largest classic Spanish deposits, is yielding collectible specimens again.

TF14AJ8: Scheelite
A complete Scheelite crystal with a polycrystalline base that has small matrix remains. It has a dipyramidal shape, is bright, translucent, and has a deep and uniform orange color. The sample, from a Spanish locality that is classic for the species, is from a relatively recent find.

Floater Scheelite crystal with well defined faces and edges and rich in parallel and polycrystalline growths. It is translucent to transparent, bright, and has a uniform yellow color with slightly orange shades. The sample is from the most classic Spanish locality for Scheelite and this one has been recently found thanks to local prospector’s diggings.

A sharp lustrous brownish floater bipyramidal Scheelite crystal, partially covered by what appears to be a gray colored sulfide, perhaps Molybdenite. Among the best known for the locality.
We will send the specimen in its original Perky box from the Robert J. Noble collection, which also contains the label.

Complete floater crystal with some well defined faces and edges and parallel, polycrystalline and rough growths. It is transparent, very bright and has a honey-yellow color. A Spanish classic, very hard to find today.
We’ll send to the buyer an old commercial label that is with the sample.

Complex twinned Scheelite crystal, with polycrystalline growths, well defined faces and edges and a uniform and intense color with orange tones and good luster. This antique specimen comes from the first period of mining the La Parrilla concession, which was one of the largest tungsten mining areas in Spain. It comes from the former collection of Andrés Jiménez Shelly.

Very sharp floater Scheelite crystal, complete, dipyramidal and with a clear honey color, very much clearer than usual for the Korean samples that usually are dark brown.
The sample is from the Joaquín Folch duplicates collection, whose label we’ll send to the buyer.

TT7AC4: Scheelite on Magnetite
Single Scheelite crystal on a matrix of very well developed dodecahedral Magnetite crystals. The Scheelite, with a white color and dipyramidal shape, has very well defined faces and edges, is translucent, bright and has noticeable Molybdenite inclusions that create grayish areas that give the crystal a kind of different fluorescence. The sample has been analyzed and we will send a copy of the analysis to the buyer.

MR47AL5: Scheelite on Muscovite
Multiple growth of dipyramidal crystals with sharp faces and edges, excellent color, very intense, on matrix with leafy aggregates of Muscovite crystals. Large size of both the piece as a whole and the Scheelite crystals, which at the time were a relatively abundant species and which today have become difficult to obtain, especially in pieces like this.
