Spheroidal growths of Rhodochrosite, some of them clearly dominant, of an intense and uniform pink color, with water-clear and very lustrous crystals of Quartz and aggregates of Sphalerite microcrystals.
From an active mine that exploits lead, copper, zinc and silver. Curiously, in this same mine and time period, similar specimens were found, but paler in color, that turned out to be manganese-bearing calcites, while analysis showed these more intensely colored specimens to be authentic rhodochrosites.
We will send a copy of this new analysis to the buyer.
