A very unusual combination from this Chinese mine of Topaz crystals, with very well defined faces and between colorless and white, plus cubic crystals of Fluorite that are transparent, very bright, with a clear lilac color and geometric zoning. They all are on matrix with crystals of Calcite, Arsenopyrite and Quartz. We’ll send the Jan Buma collection card to the buyer of the sample.

For a long time I was looking for a piece with Topaz that was worthy of Panasqueira, and I was really happy when I got this specimen with its Fluorite, its Siderite and even its small elongated Fluorapatite crystal. Later, in more modern times, more topazes came out, but that is another story.

Two single crystals, one of them clearly dominant, that combine two vertical prisms, a very sharp pinacoid and some smaller forms. The crystals, translucent and with an intense color that is deeper on the terminations and on the edges, are on a matrix of volcanic rock with spheroidal growths of Opal.

Topaz crystal rich in crystal forms, with excellent terminations. The flat lower face is not a cleavage plane but rather a contact plane, as can be seen with the naked eye. The crystal is especially transparent and lustrous, with a uniform and vivid orange color, on a Quartz matrix. Extraordinary!
