This is a single, sharp, doubly terminated floater of Malachite pseudomorphous after Azurite, apparently simple, but the polycrystalline growths are full of interesting details.

A relative novelty after the Sainte Marie 2020 Virtual Show, due more than anything to its unusual morphology, very different from that known to date in this locality. In this case the Malachite forms globular growths of small centered acicular crystals, transparent and with a very intense silky luster, on matrix.

Very 3-dimensional growth of Malachite pseudomorphing equidimensional crystals of Azurite, with very well defined faces and edges, intense color, on matrix. Before the Azurite started altering to Malachite a thin dark coating, probably Cuprite, formed on the faces of the crystals, as suggested by the mineralogy of the locality and some of the crystalline forms, apparently octahedral, present in the matrix.
This great quality piece comes from the collection of Rock H. Currier (No. 4667) whose label we will send to the buyer.

Aggregate of Azurite crystals that have an unusual morphology for the locality. They are blocky, very large and have a very good crystalline development. They are partially coated, and in some areas pseudomorphed, by Malachite. On the back on the sample there are vivid blue, roughly defined, Azurite crystals typical of Bou-Bekker, this fact proving its source.
