Octahedral Fluorite on Quartz.
JD86AB9: Octahedral Fluorite on Quartz
Aggregates of octahedral Fluorite crystals truncated by the cube faces, translucent, with a uniform green color and on matrix, with small Quartz crystals. This Fluorite, very esthetic and of excellent quality, is from a Peruvian locality from which there are very few samples.
It was from the James Catmur collection (reg. B653 -E390B), whose label we’ll send to the buyer.

Octahedral Fluorite on Quartz.
FF13H0: Octahedral Fluorite on Quartz
Both the matrix of little Quartz crystals and the Fluorite octahedron have a glazed surface. The Fluorite crystal is easy to distinguish by its light green color and the good position on the matrix, but another crystal, nearly uncolored, is hidden there too. As usually happens with a lot of samples from Jan Buma’s collection, the locality is very unusual.

Octahedral Fluorite with Albite.

Wonderful octahedral Fluorite crystal with well defined faces and edges, excellent brightness and very deep color. The crystal has grown esthetically on a small rocky matrix accompanied by Albite.

Parallel growth of very sharp octahedral crystals, with very smooth faces, translucent and of an excellent color, very uniform and with mauve shades. The group, much more complete and aerial than usual, is on a matrix of Albite.

Octahedral Fluorite with Arsenopyrite.
TL27S0: Octahedral Fluorite with Arsenopyrite
A novelty at Tucson 2011. Sharp octahedral crystal of Fluorite, with very well defined faces and edges, and with color zoning. The matrix is a parallel growth of Arsenopyrite crystals. The association is a novelty for this locality, quite famous for Ilvaites.
This specimen was photographed and published in the magazine ‘Le Règne Minéral’ number 102, page 21 and also in the magazine ‘Rivista Mineralogica Italiana’ on page 258 in number 2011/4

The complex and numerous faces frame the octahedral crystals, which are considerably transparent and a neat lilac color that contrasts with the scalenohedra of Calcite. While Fluorite from this locality is known, it is not normally of this quality.

Octahedral crystal, a very rare crystalline form for Fluorite from Panasqueira. It is translucent, with a bluish-green color and white areas on the vertices. There is also a small and very bright group of cyclic Cassiterite twins on the underside of the crystal.

Excellent group of three Fluorite octahedrons (uncommon in the deposit) showing a very aerial position, two of them dominant. Crystals show very sharp faces and edges, totally clear, on a matrix formed by cubic Galena crystals covered by Siderite.

An aesthetic group of octahedral Fluorite crystals with polycrystalline growths on the edges. The translucent Fluorite crystals have a very deep violet color, and they share their matrix with cubic Pyrite crystals and small Quartz crystals. The specimen is from a mine which went extinct many years ago.

The crystal is forming a complex growth in two different phases. In the first one the major octahedron formed and then on the octahedron vertices, smaller Fluorite crystals with dodecahedrons grew. Sphalerite and cubes of Pyrite form a perfect base to the sample. The Fluorite has good color and transparency and the referenced locality has become a classic.
