Aerial, with the two tips unbroken, and very well placed on the matrix. It also has good contrast between the matrix's colorless Calcite and the orangish main crystal. Esthetics!

Calcite doubly terminated.
JH14E5: Calcite doubly terminated
This one appeals to me because it is unusual. The Calcite crystals, which are very well defined, doubly terminated, and clear, appear to be randomly spread across the dark matrix.

Calcite epitactic Rhodochrosite, Sphalerite, Pyrite.
11TP46: Calcite epitactic Rhodochrosite, Sphalerite, Pyrite
Rich group of Calcite crystals in epitactic growth on Rhodochrosite. The rhodochrosite acted as a substrate which controlled the shapes and orientations of the younger Calcite crystals. The specimen is completed by crystals of Sphalerite which form the matrix, and tiny crystals of Pyrite sprinkled between the white Calcite crystals.

Calcite on Aragonite and Sulfur.
SE97AC7: Calcite on Aragonite and Sulfur
Aggregate of very flattened Aragonite crystals with their characteristic pseudohexagonal shape. The surfaces of their faces are coated by small Calcite crystals and they have deformed Sulfur crystals on the back. As is the case with so many specimens in this collection, in this case a great Italian classic, the sample is of great quality for the locality.

Calcite on Dolomite.
ET60E4: Calcite on Dolomite
I think the photo says more than I can explain. The white crystals are not what they look like: they are Calcite, so don’t be mistaken. The brown ones are what they look like: Dolomite.

Excellent representation of Calcite from Guanajuato. The specimen is especially esthetic due to the aerial position of flat rhombohedral crystals, with a lenticular habit, on a matrix of lightly violet Quartz.
