Chromium-rich Vesuvianite.
TJ46: Chromium-rich Vesuvianite
The great Jeffrey Quarry in Asbestos, Canada is now closed, so we don't expect to get any more fine material from there in the future. In the last few days of its glorious history the Jeffrey Mine nevertheless gave us one small pocket with extremely intensely green Chromium rich Vesuvianite: this elongated crystal with a nice termination at the top, comes from this pocket.
Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos, Les Sources RCM, Estrie, Québec  Canada (05/02)
Specimen size: 2.8 × 1.5 × 1.6 cm = 1.10” × 0.59” × 0.63”

Diopside with Vesuvianite.
MH90Y0: Diopside with Vesuvianite
One of the scarce exceptional samples from the famous find of 2005 at the Jeffrey quarry, currently closed. The Diopside crystals have an uncommon shape, being apparently tabular, but with fine vertical striations and the presence of the pinacoid show they really are very flat prisms. Their color and luster are excellent and the transparency extraordinary. To all this we must add their association with prismatic greenish-yellow and violet Vesuvianite crystals.
