Druse of deep black, twinned Sphalerite crystals with the dominant forms of the tetrahedron, with intense luster, on matrix, with white lenticular Calcite crystals and Pyrite crystals with iridescent oxide patinas and small Galena crystals. The specimen comes from Ferat Voca, a former worker in this classic mine.

New at Sainte Marie 2022 Twinned honey-colored crystals of Sphalerite, more isolated than usual, sharp and with very well-defined faces and edges, between translucent and transparent, with good luster and an intense reddish color. They are on matrix, with small white crystals of Calcite and Quartz at the base, as well as isolated Galena crystals with a cubic habit.

TLM66AP3: Sphalerite with Calcite, Pyrite and Rhodochrosite
Twinned Sphalerite crystals with very sharp crystal forms, on matrix, with groups of deformed Pyrite crystals and coatings of very flattened rhombohedral white crystals of Calcite, between transparent and translucent. Also associated with small rosettes of Rhodochrosite. The specimen comes from Ferat Voca, a former worker in this classic mine.

SV2280TJR: Sphalerite with Calcite, Quartz and Pyrite after Pyrrhotite
Aggregate of very sharp crystals of Sphalerite (marmatite variety), with very well defined spinel-law twinning, of an intense black color, very lustrous and aerial, implanted in a matrix formed of lamellar Pyrrhotite crystals that have been partially pseudomorphed by Pyrite. Small Calcite and Quartz crystals adorn the piece with a white color contrast against the sulphides. The Trepča mining complex is one of the largest polymetallic deposits in the world and for many years has provided collectors with exceptional specimens of Sphalerite, as well as various combinations of sulfides and carbonates as shown in this specimen, from the ex-Ferat Voca collection.

The growth is very complex but the very brilliant crystals of Sphalerite have very well defined geometry, which is not that common. Especially esthetic given the contrast with the Chalcopyrite crystals.

Sphalerite crystals with sharp crystal forms, in matrix, with groups of small Chalcopyrite crystals and small white Quartz coatings. The specimen comes from a find made in 2023 in the Bou Nahas Mine where such large and well defined crystals of Sphalerite have not been reported before.

Twinned crystals of Sphalerite much more individualized and well defined than usual in this deposit, with some areas replaced by Chalcopyrite, very lustrous, on matrix and with Quartz and Calcite. The back shows a crystalline contact without breakage, as evidenced by the presence of Boulangerite in good condition.

Sphalerite crystals in a tetrahedral shape, with parallel polycrystalline growths and small iridescent Chalcopyrite crystals. They are on a matrix of pinkish Dolomite crystals with the saddle-shape habit, and doubly terminated white Calcite crystals. A very good American “oldie.”

A Novelty at the 2020 Munich Virtual show. Complex crystals of Sphalerite, one of them clearly dominant, with an equant habit and very well defined faces and edges, translucent, shiny, with intense red-orange reflections. On matrix covered by rhombohedral Dolomite crystals, with small Galena crystals. This material was practically unknown until now.
This sample has been referenced and pictured, as a novelty of Munich Virtual 2020, in the magazine 'Le Règne Minéral' number 157, January-February 2020, page 49
