Spheroidal and botryoidal growths of Kentrolite, a rare manganese silicate, coated by botryoidal Rhodochrosite with an intense pink color. It is one of the best Kentrolites of a single find at the Peyrebrune Mine. We made the first announcement of this find after analyzing it, so we’ll send a copy of the analysis to the buyer.

The sample, from a classic US locality, shows on its lower edge small Pyrite crystals.

Some similar specimens, with paler tones and from the same mine and period, were identified as manganese-bearing calcites, so we have had these with a more intense tone analyzed, and they turned out to be true rhodochrosites. We will send a copy of this new analysis to the buyer.
