Quartz with Quartz after Fluorite.
SV3640EZT: Quartz with Quartz after Fluorite
An odd piece from Sidi Rahal: Large, with a pretty color and in good condition, with two peculiarities: small crystals that form elongated groups of stalactitic aspect, not much seen before in Sidi Rahal, and also, the presence of a pseudomorph of Quartz after a large Fluorite crystal. It does not stand out especially because it is on the side of the specimen and is very flat, but there it is. A double rarity from a locality that already had a tendency to yield peculiar quartzes.

Nothing special but, as always in Panasqueira, with 'something' particular. It has the added value of having been in the private collection of a Portuguese doctor who at the time was very assiduous in trying to obtain the best pieces that came out of Panasqueira.

Quartz with Siderite.
JFD14AN5: Quartz with Siderite
Vizille is a classic French mineral locality where many alpine quartzes and very good (and very large) siderites have been found. I kept this piece because I really liked that Quartz, alone and tall in the middle of the piece, and because the specimen was a floater, with a single large Siderite crystal in which are the Quartz and a second generation of siderites, with smaller and lighter colored crystals.
Mésage Mine, Saint-Pierre-de-Mésage, Vizille, Grenoble, Isère, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes  France (2010)
