TGH27AN5: Gold with Quartz and Pyrite

A recent find in 2021 yielded these elegant Gold specimens. This piece shows excellent crystallization, with the dominant forms of the octahedron in highly stylized parallel growths and with distinct twinning according to the spinel law, but, above all, it is in a Quartz matrix with coatings of small Pyrite crystals, which until now has been extremely rare. Hook-shaped and lamellar growths of Gold (variety electrum), very elongated, doubly terminated, on matrix, with Quartz, botryoidal Malachite aggregates and lighter green Chrysocolla aggregates. These Golds are a curiosity and a rarity in collections since only a few specimens were found and for only a few months.

The growth on the base of the specimen is quite different and there are crystals of quite well-defined crystalline forms.
