Although not very famous, the Haiti mine has also yielded botryoidal goethites, sometimes of good quality. This specimen is a perfect example of this, with the Goethite/matrix relationship well balanced, with slight iridescence and a lot of luster in the Goethite groupings. It was in the collection of Miguel David Martínez with number 1818 and we will send its label to the buyer of the specimen.

Botryoidal aggregate formed of Goethite crystals with a velvety luster and marked iridescence dominated by blue and mauve, on a limonite matrix. A great classic of Basque iron mining from La Arboleda, where the 'alirón' ('all iron all iron') was sung for the first time. The specimen belonged to Santiago Jiménez who, especially in the 1980s and 90s, assembled an excellent collection with a very good representation of the mineralogy of northern Spain.

Goethite after Marcasite.
18CBR09: Goethite after Marcasite
Crystals with well defined faces and edges that show "sperkise" twinning, with polycrystalline growths on some of the faces, and that have been totally pseudomorphed by brown Goethite. This piece was found in the 1970s at a now extinct locality. The sample is from the Carles Curto collection whose label and catalog card we will send to the buyer.
