The complex and numerous faces frame the octahedral crystals, which are considerably transparent and a neat lilac color that contrasts with the scalenohedra of Calcite. While Fluorite from this locality is known, it is not normally of this quality.

An aesthetic group of octahedral Fluorite crystals with polycrystalline growths on the edges. The translucent Fluorite crystals have a very deep violet color, and they share their matrix with cubic Pyrite crystals and small Quartz crystals. The specimen is from a mine which went extinct many years ago.

The crystal is forming a complex growth in two different phases. In the first one the major octahedron formed and then on the octahedron vertices, smaller Fluorite crystals with dodecahedrons grew. Sphalerite and cubes of Pyrite form a perfect base to the sample. The Fluorite has good color and transparency and the referenced locality has become a classic.

Octahedral crystal with the edges truncated by the faces of the cube and polycrystalline growths that give it the morphology known as "Aztec pyramid." The octahedral Fluorites are extremely rare at Panasqueira. The crystal, translucent and with an intense lilac-bluish color, has on its back remains of a matrix of crystalline Calcite and molds of missing Calcite crystals. The specimen comes from a recent find in the upper levels of Panasqueira.
