Nice crystals of octahedral Fluorite on matrix. It is a good size, has good color, and shows good contrast with the Albite and Quartz matrix. It is difficult to get competitive specimens of these Fluorites as few are found and prices are high. I got this one from an old batch so it still has a good price-quality balance.

The number mark on the sample indicates it was on the collection of John H. Marshall, well known collector of Pyromorphite but who also collected Fluorites.

Both the matrix of little Quartz crystals and the Fluorite octahedron have a glazed surface. The Fluorite crystal is easy to distinguish by its light green color and the good position on the matrix, but another crystal, nearly uncolored, is hidden there too. As usually happens with a lot of samples from Jan Buma’s collection, the locality is very unusual.

Octahedral Fluorite with Arsenopyrite.
TL27S0: Octahedral Fluorite with Arsenopyrite
A novelty at Tucson 2011. Sharp octahedral crystal of Fluorite, with very well defined faces and edges, and with color zoning. The matrix is a parallel growth of Arsenopyrite crystals. The association is a novelty for this locality, quite famous for Ilvaites.
This specimen was photographed and published in the magazine ‘Le Règne Minéral’ number 102, page 21 and also in the magazine ‘Rivista Mineralogica Italiana’ on page 258 in number 2011/4
