TE26AL1: Cinnabar with Gypsum, Quartz and Calcite
A novelty at Tucson 2020. Cinnabar crystals with dominant rhombohedral habit and with minor crystalline forms, translucent, extraordinarily bright and very bright in color, in matrix of white saccharoidal Gypsum, and with small crystals of Calcite and Quartz. The specimen comes from a recent find and has been carefully analyzed and determined to be Cinnabar. It has been said that in specimens from this find there could be Metacinnabar too, but our analyses have not detected any. We’ll send a copy of the analysis to the buyer.

Group of numerous Cinnabar crystals with perfectly defined faces and edges, dominated by rhombohedron forms, translucent and very lustrous, and very vivid in color with marked striations on the crystal faces and on matrix. An excellent classic of Spanish mineralogy from the collection of Andrés Jiménez Shelly whose label we will send to the buyer, and on which the annotation M.C.N. is observed, indicating that it belonged to the Museum of Natural Sciences of Madrid.

Very well defined crystals of Cinnabar that have excellent color and luster. They are on a matrix of quartzite with fine granular Cinnabar and with small tabular crystals of Baryte and small drops of interstitial native Mercury. An excellent Spanish classic.

VB70Z1: Cinnabar with Mercury and Calcite
Cinnabar crystals with very well defined faces and edges, with excellent color and extraordinary luster. They are on matrix, with Quartz and small Mercury spheres. One of the main crystals, that at first appearance may seem foliated, is a twin, as one of the images attests, showing a small aggregate of microcrystalline Quartz and a small Cinnabar crystal occupying part of both twin faces.

Very curious Gypsum rosette formed in a classic crystallized Cinnabar with Mercury, from Almadén. The rosette looked so curious that we had it analyzed, and it did indeed turn out to be Gypsum. The specimen comes from the Moutet collection in Marseille and we will send Moutet's handwritten label to the buyer.
