Group of Pyrite crystals with very well defined polycrystalline growths. They are partially coated by white, lenticular Calcite crystals and implanted on a matrix that is partially a large first generation rhombohedral Calcite crystal with a pale pink color.

Double rosette-like growth of white lenticular Calcite crystals on matrix, formed by extremely flattened rhombohedra and with curved edges. A Romanian classic from a closed mine.
The sample is from the collection of Carles Millan (catalog #5464) and, previously, from the Minette collection (catalog #WW208), whose related labels and cards we’ll send to the buyer.

Large group of Calcite crystals with the very sharp forms of a prism, terminated by a flattened rhombohedron. They are translucent, and white with reddish inclusions of iron oxides in the lower part of the prism. The specimen comes from a fortuitous and limited find in the El Hammam area.

They are on matrix, with cubic Pyrite crystals. A very elegant sample, very different from specimens previously seen from the locality.

Parallel growths of two phases of Calcite crystals, one of them with very well defined grey translucent crystals, with “windows” that allow an earlier phase, in this case a very acute scalenohedral crystal covered by a very shiny iridescent microcrystalline Chalcopyrite layer, to show through. An interesting novelty.

A novelty at Munich 2012. Parallel aggregates of Calcite crystals with a wide pinacoidal face, a much flattened rhombohedron and a poorly developed prism that has very bright faces. This crystal habit exhibits the so called “poker chip” morphology. The Calcite is partially coated by growths of small cubic crystals of Pyrite.

Twinned rhombohedral Calcite crystals with very well defined faces and edges, with surfaces covered by a later phase of drusy crystals of Calcite, and with a very pale pink color. They are on matrix, with Pyrite and Sphalerite. The sample is from a not yet widely divulged Peruvian mine.

TM16N6: Calcite with Pyrite, Goethite and Fluorite
Group of white crystals of Calcite with very well defined forms. The crystals consist of two prisms of three alternating faces and the three terminal faces of a flat rhombohedron but their surfaces are very rich in polycrystalline growths. They are on a matrix of botryoidal Goethite partially coated by small iridescent crystals of Pyrite. A very esthetic. piece from a recent find in the El Hammam area.
