The new Mineralexpo show was a great success. The first show, held in March 2006, had more than 16,000 visitors!

The influx of visitors was too large for the show. People had to queue to get in and there were periods when it was completely full. For years I have said that the love of minerals in Spain is widespread, and this show proved this to be the case. It must almost be a Guinness record that a first show attracted so many people (there was a trial show last year in May)
In the end we were almost overwhelmed, in the last photo you can see me trying to tidy the stand as it was 'groggy' from so many people checking it out.

The success was due to a number of factors. One was the superb promotion of the show by the G.M.C. organisers. They used all the methods available to them, from the simple, as show in the left hand photo, to the elaborate, such as the poster in the right hand photo, as well as lots of adverts in magazines, newspapers, radio and television which is shown in the picture!

No show can pass without an interesting event. In this a helpful soul, thinking that this corundum did not stand out very well within its box, raised it for us with this strange plastic base. As you can see in the right hand photo, they put the corundum on this support so that it was more visible.
Thank you, you creative soul! It is always nice to have unexpected help, and we hope that next year you come back to our stand at the beginning of the show and help us improve the presentation of our minerals…

Mineralexpo 2006

So after the major success of the 2006 show next year, during the first weekend in March 2007 we will be back at the Cotxeres de Sants.
We, and the hills of Collserola in the model, hope to see all those that visited us this year as well as those that missed the show.

A reveure...
