NF93AB8: Aggregates of laminar Semseyite crystals that are extraordinarily bright and are on a matrix of very well defined octahedral Galena crystals with Boulangerite coatings. A Romanian classic of great quality.

EB56AF9: Dendritic growths of flattened crystals that have very well defined faces and edges, with hoppered faces, very bright and on a rocky matrix coated by small Quartz crystals. A great European classic, where most of the samples were found in the 19th century.

TC69AF6: Aggregate of twinned Chalcopyrite crystals with the dominant forms of a disphenoid. They are very well defined and bright and have cubic Pyrite crystals on the back; small Galena crystals are associated. The chalcopyrite crystals are partially coated by groups of lenticular Calcite crystals. A classic piece from Cavnic, where good Chalcopyrite specimens are very scarce.

ED26Z4: Aggregate of tabular Baryte crystals, between translucent and transparent, very bright and with an intense and uniform yellow color. The crystals on the base of the aggregate have a dark gray color due to the presence of Boulangerite (variety plumosite) inclusions. A great museum piece, currently very difficult to obtain due to the closure of all the mines in Baia Mare mining area.

MP58AC2: Floater growth of very flattened Calcite rhombohedra with a single axis, so one can clearly see two zones, one of them snowy white and one darker due to inclusions of Boulangerite. One of the most characteristic curiosities of the Maramures mining area, currently just a memory.

This sample is from the Museum für Naturkunde in Berlin and it is with two labels, one of the Joan Abella collection and the other, that looks old and it is written in French, of a previous unknown collector. Turt, Satu Mare, Maramures. This is not really a new locality, as the mine has been active for many years. But what is new is that they recently began to find high quality specimens in this mine. That said, the finds are fairly infrequent and depend on the area of the mine being worked.

Siderite after Calcite with Pyrite

TR89AF6: Druse of very well defined rhombohedral Siderite crystals which are cast pseudomorphs after Calcite. During the process of the substitution, wall-like external shells were left behind. The siderite casts are on matrix, with small Pyrite crystals.
The sample is from the Vallecillo collection, Madrid.
